Aquarius reading and planetary transits for
the week of August 29, 2010. MOON IN FOURTH
This indicates a time when we are in "home-body" mode and a time when we may withdraw to our homes to relax or to do some puttering around the house. We can, and should, use this time for self-examination. The fourth house is one of the houses associated with the subconscious/unconscious mind as well as our past – the home we grew up in. This could be an aid to reviewing our past, Aquarius, and to determine how much influence this still has on us today. We may not wish to be alone right now, but a little bit of solitude at this time is often beneficial. We do not have to spend all of our time alone, however, as this is also a good time to interact with the family. You will probably want to feel more emotionally connected now. Since the Moon is connected to habitual behavior and the fourth house is representative of our early home life, this is a good time for self-examination. If we discover problems this is a good time to correct them, so do attempt to set aside some time for yourself, Aquarius. This is the Moon's natural house and the natural sign on this house is Cancer. This should remind us that even though we may want to be emotionally connected at this time, we should avoid the negative side of this which is clinging to those we love. People that feel suffocated often have a desire to flee. The fourth house was traditionally linked to the mother, although some associate this house with the less dominant parent today. So this may indicate a time when we have closer contact with this parent. Although this is a neutral manifestation, it might indicate clearing up a problem from the past or merely a time when we feel a closer bond with this parent.
MOON IN FIFTH
August 31, 2010 With the Moon transiting the fifth house we are likely to see greater emotional intensity in our intimate relationships. This is fine as long as we remember to not become overly possessive. Romance may, however, be a rich and rewarding emotional experience for you, Aquarius. Just be sure to remember that they are your emotions and not your partner's that you are feeling. You may want to check to see if they feel the same way. The fifth house is also considered the house of children and they may take on even greater significance now as the nurturing qualities of the Moon seek expression. The caution, Aquarius, is to not be overly-protective to the point of stifling growth. Artistic/creative self-expression could be a source for emotional outlet at this time. The Moon has been observed to be prominent in the charts of writers. Maybe you want to consider starting that novel you have been thinking about? However, lunar transits are fast so you will need far more indications than this transit to finish the work. But any creative hobby could prove to be an emotionally gratifying outlet at this time.
MOON IN SIXTH
September 3, 2010 The Moon may not feel too comfortable here in the house of health and work and service to others. We may feel the need to smother our emotions in the work environment, but this should not take on the proportions of emotional repression. We all have emotions; we just need to learn to express them in an appropriate manner and this is certainly important in our work-day life. Lunar transits are so rapid that you probably will not experience a health problem, Aquarius, but this should point out to all of us the connection between body and mind. Repressed emotions can lead to health problems if we continually swallow our emotions. Deal with the issues appropriately, Aquarius, and you minimize risks to your health over the long-haul. At this time we may feel a closer bond with co-workers. If we do experience problems at work now, we should check our responses and see if there is any connection to our past that may be influencing us to respond inappropriately.
SUN IN EIGHTH
Issues such as sex, death, taxes, inheritances and legacies, jointly-held assets and so forth are considered to be placed in the realm of the eighth house, Aquarius. More importantly, this is Pluto's natural house and Pluto is symbolic of transformation. The eighth is also one of the houses linked to the subconscious/unconscious mind and issues buried there may come to the surface at this time as we are more in touch with these parts of ourselves now. These issues may not be all that unpleasant but, true to Pluto's (natural ruler of the eighth) nature, if we resist what needs to be done to foster transformation this could be an indication of a painful time of the year. The point to keep in mind is that this aids transformation and can help to liberate us from our personal demons should we decide to cooperate. Two of the most explosive issues in western civilization revolve around sex and money and that is no coincidence since both of these issues have but one common link – Power! Is it any wonder that men use money to control women when women use sex to control men? I do not think you need to consult a rocket scientist to figure out that sooner or later people resent being controlled. Consequently, issues surfacing at this time may very well revolve around the issue of power. Once again, Aquarius, this does not mean this will degenerate into a battle. It may simply mean we have to address these issues with our mates. On another level, this could mean inheritance through the loss of a loved one, which is obviously rare, or alimony and property settlements in the case of divorce. Other people's money could be an issue if we are seeking a loan for any reason. The focus of our attention, Aquarius, should be on the deeper aspects of our personality at this time and that which within us would benefit us most if we were to change it and enable transformation within ourselves to lead us to a more rewarding life. Just as everyone else, we experience this once a year. This may be a good time to examine what we need to let go of.
MERCURY IN EIGHTH
Retrograde Until September 12, 2010 Mercury's transit of the eighth house affords us an opportunity to delve into our minds and our emotions. This might be a good time for self-examination, particularly of issues that are causing us problems or holding us back, and to transform them to add to our satisfaction in life. Other eighth-house issues can also come into play now, Aquarius. If we are having problems in the area of sex we may have a better chance of communicating our needs to our partner and also to learn what they need as well. Taxes could cause us to confer with accountants to ensure we pay the proper amount or to shelter our assets from undue taxation. Similarly, Aquarius, this could be a time to plan your estate should you or your spouse or a business partner die. How would assets be handled in such an eventuality? Negotiations over business contracts or jointly-held assets may also be an issue now. Communications with partners, both intimate and business, are likely to be on a very deep level at this time.
MERCURY RETROGRADE TRANSITS
Mercury goes retrograde three times a year for a period of about three weeks. At these times it has been observed that communications can go awry, as well as having difficulties where travel is concerned. Usually, this does not indicate accidents, but there may be flight delays with airlines or lost luggage. Hotel reservations may not work out as expected and so forth. We may get the time wrong for a business appointment or lunch with a friend and so on. Other misunderstandings with communications may occur as well, so strive to be clear about everything. Be sure to dot the I's and cross the T's. These times may not be propitious for contract negotiations or signings. Also, another caution with Mercury retrograde, may concern electronics. This is not usually considered a favorable time for installing new software on a computer as troubles may arise from the new applications. We should also keep in mind at these times that we are advised to back up our computers just in case we experience a computer crash and end up losing work and important data.
VENUS IN NINTH
This transit may indicate a time when music or art, both connected to Venus, may broaden our horizons in some way. This could be through visiting an art gallery or museum, attending a concert or perhaps through a field of study, as the ninth house is connected to higher education. This is also the house of long-distance journeys, Aquarius, so a vacation at this time may be in order. Through the influence of Venus this would probably turn out to be an enjoyable experience and quite educational. The planet Venus influences diplomacy so we may get along quite well with people from different countries and cultures. We may even be attracted to foreigners at this time. This is a time when our desire for pleasure and socializing may not only be pleasant but educational as well, Aquarius.
MARS IN NINTH
Ninth-house issues get energized with this transit, Aquarius, and they include higher education, religion, philosophy, ethics, long-distance journeys, the higher courts and so forth. The ninth house also is indicative of right-brain activity and abstract thought. Since this is associated with creativity, in some way we may use this energy to be creative now. In the ninth house this usually means conveying to others in some manner what we have learned. This could bring into play another ninth-house concern, which is publishing. The source of conflict here, Aquarius, may come from a tendency to push our views onto others at this time. We should try to keep in mind that others are allowed their views just as we are entitled to our own. So be aware that this inclination could cause problems now. Where higher education is concerned, Aquarius, this might be a time to put our energy into study as we may be able to cover a lot of ground with this transit. Long-distance journeys could indicate travel, Aquarius, and this could prove positive and possibly educational now as long as we do not allow recklessness to lay the foundation for the possibility of accidents. Legal problems might be an issue now, Aquarius. If so, prepare carefully. But this is not, of course, the usual case.
JUPITER IN THIRD
Retrograde Until November 17, 2010 All Jupiter transits are connected to learning in some way, as Jupiter is the natural ruler of the ninth house of higher education. The third house is related to early education, so this transit indicates a time when we have reason to suspect we will learn something that can benefit us in some way, or perhaps take up a new interest of study. This could come through siblings, neighbors, relatives or any interaction with our immediate environment, Aquarius. This transit also indicates a time when we can communicate with others more effectively, and this could include writing as this is another issue of the ninth house ruled by Jupiter. Both the third (short-distance) and Jupiter (long-distance) are associated with travel and, although the third house usually indicates travel in the immediate environment, with Jupiter here this could be a time of longer journeys. These travels may prove, in some way, to be learning experiences even though we may not be immediately aware of this benefit. Those we come in contact with daily could benefit us in some way and this benefit could be financial, Aquarius. Some attribute commerce to the third house, so this could be a time of increased activity and opportunities, as well as profits, in this area. Perhaps this might indicate an expansion of an existing business, or increased profits from new and existing customers. This does indicate a time when we can expand our mental horizons, Aquarius.
JUPITER RETROGRADE TRANSITS When transiting Jupiter turns retrograde, it affords us an opportunity to reassess where we may have exceeded the bounds of practicality. Have we overextended ourselves in business or in any other way for that matter? Now we have a chance to reevaluate our endeavors and to determine if our enthusiasm needs to be reined in a bit. This is a time to plan and prepare for opportunities that may present themselves when Jupiter turns direct again. Now is the time to determine if the course you are on, or the opportunities presented to you, are what you really want for yourself. SATURN IN NINTH
The ninth house is one of the houses related to education. Saturn’s transit here, for most people, refers to education as understanding the ground rules of whatever field we are working in so that we may prepare ourselves to benefit from this understanding when Saturn moves into the tenth house. Saturn's transit of the tenth house is said to symbolize the pinnacle of our achievements, providing we have learned Saturn's lessons and have prepared ourselves accordingly. Of course, Aquarius, this will be dependent upon our age. Younger people may experience this as a time when they must discipline themselves to learn what they will need to know in order to take their place in the world later in life. For those already working in the outer world, this may be a time to examine all the tools of the trade, so to speak, that we need to use in our climb to the top. We must use our talents to the utmost and solidify our operating procedures, but at the same time we must not allow ourselves to become rigid. We may still have more to learn and we should be open to this type of education now. Other ninth house concerns could include long-distance journeys and with Saturn here this may mean for purposes of work, or for learning something we need to know. This is not usually considered a time that is favorable to travel merely for pleasure. Religion and philosophy are also ninth house issues. This may be a time when we examine these issues more closely in regard to our lives. The same warning applies here as to our strategies about approaching our work. This means that we may solidify our beliefs, but once again we should refrain from becoming rigid in this regard. If we fail to leave ourselves open to other viewpoints we not only miss an opportunity to learn more, Aquarius, but we may also lay the groundwork for confrontation now. The ninth house deals with the higher courts just as the seventh house symbolizes the lower courts. With this in mind, Saturn’s transit here, just as in the seventh house, may not bode well for legal cases now. If you should have to go to court, be thoroughly prepared. But it may be better to avoid this circumstance if at all possible.
URANUS IN SECOND
Retrograde Until December 5, 2010 The second house represents money, possessions, personal values and innate talents. With the transit of Uranus here, this is the area where we will most often see the planet's disruptive influence. As with all transits of Uranus, Aquarius, should we find troubling circumstances we should turn our focus to self-examination to become more consciously aware of what we are yearning for. Financially, it is not recommended that we overextend ourselves now. This transit can bring sudden gains, but sudden losses can be just as common. This is a time to give ourselves plenty of breathing room financially and to keep our position as fluid as possible to guard against sudden upsets. Finances are quite likely to change now and possibly radically. So it is best to be prepared, Aquarius, just in case fortune turns against us. Our means of earning a living may change, particularly if we feel trapped in our present position. That secure job, which we may hate, might not be so secure after all. Take the initiative and break free if you feel this is what you need. Keep your options open in this regard as a change may be just what you need. Personal values and possessions may feel the disruption of Uranus, too. What once seemed important may not seem so now. This is a normal process of growth, so do not become unduly alarmed by it if you should experience this. This could become a time when people become aware of how they are possessed by their possessions. If necessary, discard anything you feel you no longer need. If you do not do this of your own accord, Uranus may do it for you. This transit may seem difficult, but usually turns out to be beneficial in the end.
URANUS RETROGRADE TRANSITS This is a favorable time to observe the changes in the world around you and to assess the impact these changes may have upon you on a personal level. This period of review may help you to adjust your course if the changes taking place around you seem to be impeding your progress, or may block it in the future. Observe and plan for now and postpone any changes until Uranus turns direct again. NEPTUNE IN FIRST
Retrograde Until November 7, 2010 The first house is representative of how others see us, Aquarius, and with this transit others may not see us too clearly. That is to say, we may not be too sure of ourselves at this time and, almost as if we were teenagers, may be going through a phase of changing and trying on new faces now. This tendency may cause some problems in relationships, which may be exacerbated by our own uncertainty now. We should attempt to be quite honest with ourselves as to whom and what we truly are. If you find yourself lacking in this regard, Aquarius, try not to judge yourself too harshly as this is symptomatic of Neptune undermining our confidence in ourselves and will pass with this transit. This can be a rather long transit, however, depending on the exact length of your first house, but do not despair. This is fortunate in that it gives us time to take any changes taking place now in stride instead of them being too abrupt. If you experience real difficulties now, this may be a good time to seek out a counselor or advisor. Just be certain that you do not become too dependent on this person. They should be helpful but not become a permanent crutch. If you should, as some people do, decide to help others now this can be helpful to your self-image and is a fortunate use for Neptune's energy. Keep the above advice in mind though and do not allow others to become dependent on you to carry their load for them. This is a good time to teach others to stand on their own two feet and make their own personal journey. Some astrologers associate this time with a marked period of productivity where creativity is concerned, or at least a keen appreciation of artistic expression.
NEPTUNE RETROGRADE TRANSITS This is a time when we are advised to try to tune into our unconscious mind and examine what we find lying there. Assess your fears or any illusions you may be laboring under and try to ground them in reality in order to deal with them more effectively. Anything that leaves us feeling we are in a state of confusion should be dealt with also. Assess also if this may be connected to what is going on in the world around you. Endeavor to use your energy in a positive and productive manner and avoid escapism of any sort. Although Neptune is nebulous, we need to strive for clarity now in order to keep from deceiving ourselves and to deal with any issues confronting us in a practical manner. PLUTO IN TWELFTH
Retrograde Until September 14, 2010 This is a transit, as most twelfth-house transits are, that may prove to be quite troubling indeed, Aquarius. Pluto's transformation now will attempt to reach into our unconscious to help us unload any excess baggage we have been carrying with us that has been causing problems for us throughout the course of our lives. For most people this is not likely to be a pleasant experience, but it may be a necessary one. Now Pluto affords us the opportunity to offload the stumbling blocks we put in our path, either through repression or guilt. Twelfth house issues may be things that we are so out of touch with we are not even aware of them. Here we also find feelings of guilt about deeds we have done and have been unable to deal with. The twelfth represents matters that are hidden and sometimes we do such a good job of hiding things we even hide them from ourselves. Now we can examine these issues and transform our lives by freeing ourselves from these controversies that may be creating havoc in our lives. This is a house of the unconscious and, for most people, what surfaces now may be very uncomfortable to deal with. But by the same token, Pluto is opening a door for us to get at the heart of these matters so that we may resolve them. If you find this transit particularly distressing, Aquarius, and many people do, you may want to seek out professional advice. This would be a favorable time for psychotherapy in order to put the past, and your personal demons, to rest. If you are like most of us, you can afford to be rid of these things we all carry around and transform yourself. This, although troublesome, can be a very liberating experience. Incidentally, Aquarius, this is also an extraordinarily good time to rid ourselves of bad habits, such as smoking, drinking, or substance abuse.
PLUTO RETROGRADE TRANSITS As usual with any retrograde planetary motion, this is a time to step back and review our endeavors and to reassess what direction we are taking and just what it is we wish to accomplish. This is a favorable time to evaluate our progress toward our goals, but also to determine how these objectives may benefit others as well. We need to become aware of how we not only influence our own lives, but the lives of others, too.
