Aries reading and planetary transits for
the week of August 29, 2010. MOON IN SECOND
At this time second house considerations may be tinged with emotion and we may feel much attached to our possessions. But more likely, our possessions and income level may be an attempt to fill some emotional void. Of course, Aries, no one wants to feel financially destitute, but we should examine the underlying motivation behind spending and acquisition at this time. What do these acquisitions represent to us on an unconscious level? This is not usually a good time to go on an emotional spending spree, but could be good for finding out what it is we are really trying to buy with our spending.
MOON IN THIRD
August 31, 2010 When the Moon transits the third house we may expect our communications with others to take on emotional overtones. This may help us to communicate on a deeper feeling level with those close to us. This could be particularly useful in intimate relationships. Siblings may come into play here, Aries, and if we experience problems we should be sure that these issues do not stem from sibling rivalry from our past. Clear the air, but do so gently if you do experience such difficulties. This does not mean there will be a problem, but you should be aware just in case. Unconscious habit patterns of response could create a problem if we speak before we think, Aries. This most often shows up in relations with people we have contact with on a regular basis. Sometimes, in these instances, we react on "auto-pilot" and can inadvertently cause friction with those in our daily lives.
MOON IN FOURTH
September 3, 2010 This indicates a time when we are in "home-body" mode and a time when we may withdraw to our homes to relax or to do some puttering around the house. We can, and should, use this time for self-examination. The fourth house is one of the houses associated with the subconscious/unconscious mind as well as our past – the home we grew up in. This could be an aid to reviewing our past, Aries, and to determine how much influence this still has on us today. We may not wish to be alone right now, but a little bit of solitude at this time is often beneficial. We do not have to spend all of our time alone, however, as this is also a good time to interact with the family. You will probably want to feel more emotionally connected now. Since the Moon is connected to habitual behavior and the fourth house is representative of our early home life, this is a good time for self-examination. If we discover problems this is a good time to correct them, so do attempt to set aside some time for yourself, Aries. This is the Moon's natural house and the natural sign on this house is Cancer. This should remind us that even though we may want to be emotionally connected at this time, we should avoid the negative side of this which is clinging to those we love. People that feel suffocated often have a desire to flee. The fourth house was traditionally linked to the mother, although some associate this house with the less dominant parent today. So this may indicate a time when we have closer contact with this parent. Although this is a neutral manifestation, it might indicate clearing up a problem from the past or merely a time when we feel a closer bond with this parent.
SUN IN SIXTH
Since the sixth house is associated with work and service to others as well as health, we can assume that for most of us play-time is over for the moment. This is a time when we should strive for greater efficiency in how we perform our jobs to better serve our boss or our clients, not just for self-denial, Aries, but also to better ourselves. This may not be a glamorous period, but it is one in which we can become proud of ourselves for our efficiency and productivity, if we apply ourselves. As far as health is concerned, we will not have to anticipate problems with this transit, but we may become more focused on our diet and possibly starting an exercise program to keep ourselves in optimum health. Aries, remember that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!
MERCURY IN SIXTH
Retrograde Until September 12, 2010 This is the other natural house of Mercury and so we should note that we may observe greater intensity in Mercury's transit here. This may be an aid to our work as we may find ways to increase our efficiency and productivity. We may be colored by Virgo's influence with this transit and this could manifest as becoming meticulous in our work, but we should attempt to avoid the downside of this influence, which might cause us to become too critical with co-workers or ourselves and appearing insensitive and inadvertently causing problems for ourselves in the future. Also, Aries, be aware of a tendency to get bogged down in minutiae as this may have the unintended result of missing deadlines. The sixth house is also the house of health and this transit does not indicate a health problem, but may indicate signs of nervousness or stress at this time. This tension could presage problems if we do not deal with these issues properly. If anxiety is a recurrent problem for you, Aries, consult your health care professional as stress has been linked to problems such as hypertension, insomnia and gastrointestinal disturbances, among others. Do not become overly concerned with this, but be aware of it. If it is a problem for you, do not fret over it, rather take action. For most of us health will not necessarily be a problem now. If it should require our attention we can learn to relax, adjust our diet, and get adequate rest and appropriate exercise. The point is, Aries, if health should become an issue, like any other problems in our lives, we resolve the issue by taking the required actions necessary to deal with them.
MERCURY RETROGRADE TRANSITS
Mercury goes retrograde three times a year for a period of about three weeks. At these times it has been observed that communications can go awry, as well as having difficulties where travel is concerned. Usually, this does not indicate accidents, but there may be flight delays with airlines or lost luggage. Hotel reservations may not work out as expected and so forth. We may get the time wrong for a business appointment or lunch with a friend and so on. Other misunderstandings with communications may occur as well, so strive to be clear about everything. Be sure to dot the I's and cross the T's. These times may not be propitious for contract negotiations or signings. Also, another caution with Mercury retrograde, may concern electronics. This is not usually considered a favorable time for installing new software on a computer as troubles may arise from the new applications. We should also keep in mind at these times that we are advised to back up our computers just in case we experience a computer crash and end up losing work and important data.
VENUS IN SEVENTH
This is a favorable transit for relationships of all types, be they intimate partnerships or business. Even relationships with enemies may be improved upon at this time if we are so inclined. This is one of the houses naturally ruled by Venus, so its energies operate more easily here. This will indicate a time when we get along quite well with romantic partners, Aries, or possibly indicate the start of a new relationship. This could also manifest as a time when we form a new business partnership, or a present business partnership could also become financially beneficial to us. We tend to get along quite well with others during this transit, Aries, because we feel more sociable and less ego-driven now. There is, however, one caution with this transit and that may be an inclination to attempt to be too nice. Similar to the transit through the first house, we should be careful not to give too much away and to stand up for ourselves if this is called for.
MARS IN SEVENTH
This may be a time of conflict in your life and these conflicts may be with your intimate partner, business partner or the open-enemies that the seventh house represents. Keep in mind this does not have to be counter-productive if we use the energy of Mars here constructively. The problem, Aries, often stems from the fact that the energy of Mars is self-oriented and in this area we need to be more of a team player. We can circumvent many of the problems with this transit if we keep this in mind and do not allow our ego to walk over others. If we do feel we are giving too much ground to others we should certainly stand up for ourselves and clear the air. But we should do so in the spirit of harmony; that is, to strengthen the relationship. This transit of Mars can offer us an opportunity to do this very thing, Aries, as long as we keep any selfish tendencies in check. Public relations fall under the influence of the seventh-house, and for those dealing with the public this could be a good time to further our image as long as we keep the combative nature of Mars under control. We might accomplish much in this area now. Also, the lower courts are a part of the seventh house and in some cases this might include some sort of a legal problem that might have to be dealt with now. As always with Mars, stand up for yourself where it is needed, Aries, but give ground if you have to, in the spirit of fairness.
JUPITER IN FIRST
Retrograde Until November 17, 2010 This is generally a good time for pursuing personal interests. We will seem more confident and generous and this magnanimous spirit quite often draws the support we need with very little effort on our part. This is the beginning of a growth cycle for us, Aries, as well as indicating a phase when we are learning and what we learn, and the people we attract to us, can prove to be quite beneficial indeed. We tend to make a favorable impression on others now, Aries, and this marks a time when most people will feel rather self-confident. We should avoid selfishness now, but for most people this will not be a problem, as this transit usually indicates a time when most people feel rather generous. And when others see this inclination in us, Aries, it tends to cause them to look upon us favorably, thereby earning their trust and support. Barring any conflicting transits this is, for most people, a time of greater equilibrium when we can draw people and resources to ourselves with greater ease. This is because of our self-confidence and openness to others, Aries, as well as our generosity. Although the first house is more of a personal-interest area of the chart, our willingness to be open with others and our sense of generosity often brings us the support of others that ultimately benefits us on a personal level. Keep in mind this is one of the Jupiter transits often associated with unwanted weight gain!
JUPITER RETROGRADE TRANSITS When transiting Jupiter turns retrograde, it affords us an opportunity to reassess where we may have exceeded the bounds of practicality. Have we overextended ourselves in business or in any other way for that matter? Now we have a chance to reevaluate our endeavors and to determine if our enthusiasm needs to be reined in a bit. This is a time to plan and prepare for opportunities that may present themselves when Jupiter turns direct again. Now is the time to determine if the course you are on, or the opportunities presented to you, are what you really want for yourself. SATURN IN SEVENTH
With this transit of Saturn, Aries, the most obvious point of friction will be seen in the area of relationships. This is one of the transits of Saturn often associated with the break-up of relationships. This is not an inevitable outcome for this transit, however. It could indicate that, although work may be needed, we do have the opportunity to strengthen relationships if we choose to do the required work. This transit seems to indicate that in all our relationships, both personal and business, we need to clarify our expectations of others and just what our responsibilities to them entail. We should not only be looking out for what we receive from others, but also doing our best to live up to our obligations to others as well. Both parties should be clear about what each expects from the other, and coming to a common ground on these issues may not be easy now. Other seventh-house issues may surface as well. Dealings in court may not turn out in your favor now, Aries, so it would be best to avoid any legal wrangling at this time. Public relations work done now may not leave the desired impression we hoped for. We may leave the impression of being far too removed from the public and come across as being cold and austere; possibly more concerned with the bottom line than pleasing our customers. Business partnerships may be fraught with the same pitfalls listed above. The "open enemies" related to the seventh house could also prove troublesome now, so be prepared for this eventuality.
URANUS IN TWELFTH
Retrograde Until December 5, 2010 Twelfth-house transits tend to be uncomfortable for most people because of the association of this house to the subconscious/unconscious mind and what is hidden there. The twelfth house symbolizes things we may not even be aware of, Aries, but also things that we are aware of but prefer to keep hidden just the same. Any of these issues may spring to the surface now in a most abrupt and unpleasant manner, Aries, due to the influence of Uranus transiting this house now. Although for most people this initially proves to be upsetting, it is an opportunity to deal with these issues and to liberate ourselves from the hold they have over us. Any twelfth-house transit, although possibly unpleasant, is an opportunity for self-examination. Failure to deal with these issues will only continue to make us easy prey for them on an ongoing basis. The disruptive influence of Uranus now is encouraging us to break free and find greater independence by finally putting these matters to rest. This may also be a time when others may be a source of sudden upsets through the "secret enemies" connotation of the twelfth house. Should this be the case, in all likelihood we are sending unconscious signals about our vulnerability or they somehow see a chink in our armor. Although initially difficult, this situation could prove beneficial by directing our attention to where we need work. If we strengthen these points, Aries, we become less vulnerable in the future. This could be a time to see a therapist, as Uranus may allow new insights into our consciousness to help with any difficulties. Although unlikely, we may deal with hospitals, prisons or asylums, though this does not mean we will be inhabitants there.
URANUS RETROGRADE TRANSITS This is a favorable time to observe the changes in the world around you and to assess the impact these changes may have upon you on a personal level. This period of review may help you to adjust your course if the changes taking place around you seem to be impeding your progress, or may block it in the future. Observe and plan for now and postpone any changes until Uranus turns direct again. NEPTUNE IN ELEVENTH
Retrograde Until November 7, 2010 Because the eleventh house is related to our hopes, wishes, goals and objectives and Neptune is associated with idealism, this is a time when our ideals may come to the forefront in our lives. Just remember, Aries, that Neptune is also associated with self-deception and keep your dreams grounded in reality. Be equally careful of new friends that come into your life now or any association with organizations. We may delude ourselves about the reality surrounding these issues now, Aries, so we must be careful with the fog surrounding Neptune’s transits. This does not mean these people will deceive us, but we may not see the details clearly and possibly deceive ourselves. Dreams must be grounded in reality if we wish to make them real and we should be aware of a tendency now to see others as we wish to, rather than what they really are. This may be a favorable time to align yourself with organizations that attempt to benefit the underprivileged or that do some sort of volunteer work for the masses. Neptune is also associated with creativity, Aries, so working with others along these lines or associating with organizations that promote artistic/creative expression may be beneficial now as well. If a stumbling block occurs now it is likely due to deception. Either others are taking advantage of you or you have deluded yourself into believing something, or someone, is other than they actually are. Be careful of self-deception now, Aries.
NEPTUNE RETROGRADE TRANSITS This is a time when we are advised to try to tune into our unconscious mind and examine what we find lying there. Assess your fears or any illusions you may be laboring under and try to ground them in reality in order to deal with them more effectively. Anything that leaves us feeling we are in a state of confusion should be dealt with also. Assess also if this may be connected to what is going on in the world around you. Endeavor to use your energy in a positive and productive manner and avoid escapism of any sort. Although Neptune is nebulous, we need to strive for clarity now in order to keep from deceiving ourselves and to deal with any issues confronting us in a practical manner. PLUTO IN TENTH
Retrograde Until September 14, 2010 At this time you are inclined to feel driven to achieve something significant in your life, Aries. If the path you have taken in life thus far has prepared you properly, you may achieve a position of power now. If this should be the case, refrain from abusing your authority. With a Pluto transit this is likely to result in ruthless opposition to your aims. Pluto can tend to make us a bit power mad, and this is to be avoided if we do not wish to presage our own downfall. We may experience power struggles with others now in the professional arena. Stand your ground but do not be tempted to use underhanded or ruthless tactics now, Aries. Pluto has a nasty way of causing reversal of fortunes if we lower ourselves to these types of standards. Remember the children’s taunt – "I’m rubber and you’re glue; everything bounces off me and sticks to you!" Astrologically, this can describe Pluto’s transits. Play fair and do not cut corners. Take the moral high ground and your detractors may end up defeating themselves with their own tactics. For some people, this transit may be more worrisome. Some people may find their professional world crumbling now. If this should be your case, Aries, make every attempt to be objective about the situation. You may want to take your time and examine your direction in life. Transits of Pluto last for years, so you will have ample time to discover a new path in life for yourself. For some individuals, this transit may be similar to Pluto’s transit of the sixth house. We may lose our jobs, but if we have not achieved a position of authority it will more likely symbolize a change in our life’s direction. This is also a parent house so our relationship with our parents may undergo dramatic transformation now. This could be either parent, but the parent symbolized by the tenth house is the usual candidate in this regard.
PLUTO RETROGRADE TRANSITS As usual with any retrograde planetary motion, this is a time to step back and review our endeavors and to reassess what direction we are taking and just what it is we wish to accomplish. This is a favorable time to evaluate our progress toward our goals, but also to determine how these objectives may benefit others as well. We need to become aware of how we not only influence our own lives, but the lives of others, too.
