Gemini May 21 – June 20 Solar Chart House Transits If you know your Ascendant and/or Moon Sign, read that, too.
Gemini reading and planetary transits for the week of January 29, 2012. MOON IN TWELFTH
When the Moon transits the twelfth house we may feel a bit uneasy and the reason for this can actually be quite beneficial if we take advantage of it. The twelfth is one of the houses that symbolizes the subconscious/unconscious mind as well as where we find characteristics about ourselves that we tend to repress. Along with the Moon representing the past, this affords us a great opportunity. This transit can be used for self-examination of all the issues we tend to hide from others as well as ourselves. If we look at these characteristics we can find ways to enable expression of these traits to our benefit and add more to our lives. We probably will not feel very sociable at this time, but that can help us withdraw a bit for the self-examination that can be so beneficial now. Anything we have lurking in our subconscious or try to repress has a tendency to trip us up. With this transit, Gemini, we may find what these stumbling blocks are and find more appropriate ways to deal with them. Relationships with women may be a bit touchy now, Gemini, but do not overlook the possibility of a female helping us, in the role of a confidante, to resolve some of these issues we come across here.
MOON IN FIRST February 1, 2012 Whereas the Sun's transit of the first house makes for a healthy self-centeredness and assessment of our own personal goals, the Moon's transit of the first house acts on an emotional level. The Moon's transit of the first house stimulates us to be emotionally connected to friends and loved ones but, Gemini, we must be aware of our underlying motives. We can be very sympathetic to the needs of others, but can also be very demanding in an emotional sense. Insecurities may come into play here and make us feel a bit needy or even a bit panicky. We all like having a support system, but we must learn that ultimately our security lies within ourselves. Be supportive and seek support from others if you feel you need it at this time, Gemini, just be sure to balance the scales. Others want the same support when they are in need, too. MOON IN SECOND February 4, 2012 At this time second house considerations may be tinged with emotion and we may feel much attached to our possessions. But more likely, our possessions and income level may be an attempt to fill some emotional void. Of course, Gemini, no one wants to feel financially destitute, but we should examine the underlying motivation behind spending and acquisition at this time. What do these acquisitions represent to us on an unconscious level? This is not usually a good time to go on an emotional spending spree, but could be good for finding out what it is we are really trying to buy with our spending.
MOON IN THIRD February 6, 2012 When the Moon transits the third house we may expect our communications with others to take on emotional overtones. This may help us to communicate on a deeper feeling level with those close to us. This could be particularly useful in intimate relationships. Siblings may come into play here, Gemini, and if we experience problems we should be sure that these issues do not stem from sibling rivalry from our past. Clear the air, but do so gently if you do experience such difficulties. This does not mean there will be a problem, but you should be aware just in case. Unconscious habit patterns of response could create a problem if we speak before we think, Gemini. This most often shows up in relations with people we have contact with on a regular basis. Sometimes, in these instances, we react on "auto-pilot" and can inadvertently cause friction with those in our daily lives.
MOON IN FOURTH February 8, 2012 This indicates a time when we are in "home-body" mode and a time when we may withdraw to our homes to relax or to do some puttering around the house. We can, and should, use this time for self-examination. The fourth house is one of the houses associated with the subconscious/unconscious mind as well as our past – the home we grew up in. This could be an aid to reviewing our past, Gemini, and to determine how much influence this still has on us today. We may not wish to be alone right now, but a little bit of solitude at this time is often beneficial. We do not have to spend all of our time alone, however, as this is also a good time to interact with the family. You will probably want to feel more emotionally connected now. Since the Moon is connected to habitual behavior and the fourth house is representative of our early home life, this is a good time for self-examination. If we discover problems this is a good time to correct them, so do attempt to set aside some time for yourself, Gemini. This is the Moon's natural house and the natural sign on this house is Cancer. This should remind us that even though we may want to be emotionally connected at this time, we should avoid the negative side of this which is clinging to those we love. People that feel suffocated often have a desire to flee. The fourth house was traditionally linked to the mother, although some associate this house with the less dominant parent today. So this may indicate a time when we have closer contact with this parent. Although this is a neutral manifestation, it might indicate clearing up a problem from the past or merely a time when we feel a closer bond with this parent. MOON IN FIFTH February 10, 2012 With the Moon transiting the fifth house we are likely to see greater emotional intensity in our intimate relationships. This is fine as long as we remember to not become overly possessive. Romance may, however, be a rich and rewarding emotional experience for you, Gemini. Just be sure to remember that they are your emotions and not your partner's that you are feeling. You may want to check to see if they feel the same way. The fifth house is also considered the house of children and they may take on even greater significance now as the nurturing qualities of the Moon seek expression. The caution, Gemini, is to not be overly-protective to the point of stifling growth. Artistic/creative self-expression could be a source for emotional outlet at this time. The Moon has been observed to be prominent in the charts of writers. Maybe you want to consider starting that novel you have been thinking about? However, lunar transits are fast so you will need far more indications than this transit to finish the work. But any creative hobby could prove to be an emotionally gratifying outlet at this time.
MOON IN SIXTH February 12, 2012 The Moon may not feel too comfortable here in the house of health and work and service to others. We may feel the need to smother our emotions in the work environment, but this should not take on the proportions of emotional repression. We all have emotions; we just need to learn to express them in an appropriate manner and this is certainly important in our work-day life. Lunar transits are so rapid that you probably will not experience a health problem, Gemini, but this should point out to all of us the connection between body and mind. Repressed emotions can lead to health problems if we continually swallow our emotions. Deal with the issues appropriately, Gemini, and you minimize risks to your health over the long-haul. At this time we may feel a closer bond with co-workers. If we do experience problems at work now, we should check our responses and see if there is any connection to our past that may be influencing us to respond inappropriately.
SUN IN NINTH
The ninth house includes higher education, the higher courts, religion, philosophy, ethics, long-distance journeys, publishing, foreigners and so forth. When the Sun transits the ninth house, it is these issues that we may expect to be highlighted. This could indicate a time when we might consider furthering our education as well as publishing something we are knowledgeable about. Journeys undertaken at this time, Gemini, are likely to be of good distance and possibly outside the borders of our native country. These trips, in all likelihood, will teach us something about other people, cultures and languages, even if that may not have been our original intent. This is a good time for learning or deciding to take up the study of something we find interesting. Dealing with foreigners may lead to business efforts in the import/export trade. Religion or metaphysical studies may pique our interest at this time and we may also have dealings with the law for some reason. We are inclined to be more active at this time, just as the third house opposite this house deals with travel but, usually in the ninth house, over much longer distances. Gemini, this is a time to open our minds to what the world around us might teach us.
MERCURY IN NINTH
When Mercury transits the ninth house, any or all of the issues contained here may come to the fore and pique our interest. This includes higher education, the law, religion, philosophy, ethics, and foreign countries and their inhabitants. In-laws are also included in the ninth house. This could be a time to begin the study of any new interest, Gemini. This also tends to aid communication and we are usually more open to differing viewpoints at this time. Travel could also come into play now, Gemini, and often becomes a learning experience of sorts. This may have the effect of opening the mind and expanding our horizons. We can aid this by exposing ourselves to new subjects and people at this time. We will tend to be more tolerant now, Gemini, and this may open new doors for us. This aids communications with others through publishing as well; another ninth-house concern.
VENUS IN TENTH
Venus tends to attract things and people to us, Gemini, and with the transit of the tenth house this could prove to be beneficial in our professional lives. At this time we can more easily gain the support of superiors and this might hold us in good stead for promotion. Romance might enter the picture through our profession in some way now, Gemini. With today's climate concerning such incidents, it would be wise to exercise a bit of caution in this regard. This could involve an older or more influential person so be sure you have no ulterior motives where this is concerned.
VENUS IN ELEVENTH February 8, 2012 The eleventh house is considered the house of friends, professional organizations, and goals and objectives. With the transit of Venus here, any or all of these areas of our lives may benefit. We will most likely be in the mood for socializing with friends more now, Gemini. This could be a good time to attend parties or throw one of our own. Business meetings or conferences will probably be more harmonious at this time as well. Through these associations, as well as through our friends, we may inadvertently find ways to achieve the goals and objectives we have represented in the eleventh house. This could indicate becoming romantically involved with someone that we had only thought of as a friend before, Gemini, but now seem to see with new eyes. The same romantic potential could exist with someone we meet through a professional or social organization we belong to, or perhaps while attending a conference of some sort.
MARS IN FOURTH Retrograde Until April 13, 2012 The fourth house symbolizes our past; the home we grew up in, the domestic scene and the home we wish to create for ourselves, the less influential parent in our childhood, and this is also one of the houses associated with the subconscious/unconscious mind. Any of these areas of our lives may be energized by Mars with this transit. The domestic scene is likely to see quite a bit of activity with this transit, Gemini. This might be a good time to tackle projects around the home. This would be a productive use of this energy, but we should be careful of clashes with those we live with. This might be particularly important for those still living with their parents. We should be careful of reacting to people in a manner that may be more related to our past than to the present moment should conflicts arise, Gemini. Is it really the present moment we are reacting to or something from our past that may still anger us? This may be a time when we are more active with our parents and, if used positively, may be a time that affords us an opportunity to clear the air about something from the past. This may be particularly true where anger is an issue. Since the fourth opposes the tenth house of career, we may experience some problems in the professional sphere, Gemini. This may be a better time to put energy into the domestic scene and bide our time where professional matters are concerned. Using this time productively, Gemini, we may accomplish much around the home as long as we are not too abrasive with those we live with. Any conflicts that do arise will most likely appear on the domestic scene with this transit, so be aware of that and keep Mars in check. On the professional front, this may be a good time for planning rather than confrontation.
MARS RETROGRADE TRANSITS
Where Mars retrograde transits are concerned, this may indicate a time when we may need to adjust our current course in life. Whether that course is related to relationships or business, we may need to reassess what we are doing or alter it; to be sure we are headed in the direction we wish to follow. Another indication is that things from the past that still irk us, or things we did not deal with properly, may resurface now. This affords us an opportunity to reevaluate these things and take the appropriate steps to deal with these issues now. We may have to learn an appropriate, healthy expression of anger or possibly learn to be more assertive. When Mars is retrograde, it is not usually considered a favorable time to begin new ventures. This is a time for Mars energy to be directed inward, so that we may assess where we are going and review our strategies for getting there. When we do otherwise now, we usually run into unforeseen obstacles that tend to thwart our progress. JUPITER IN TWELFTH
This is one of the less traumatic transits of the twelfth house, Gemini, but may prove to be very beneficial to us just the same. Jupiter was once considered the ruler of this house and the sign of Pisces. It is now considered to be the co-ruler of Pisces and the natural twelfth house; and as such should act more easily here as it does in the ninth house and the sign of Sagittarius. Since the twelfth house is associated with the subconscious/unconscious mind and our secret enemies, which I believe for the most part, are one and the same, this is a favorable time for self-examination. Anything that we perceive as holding us back we may be able to access and address now, Gemini, and usually with far less emotional turmoil that other transits of the twelfth house may entail. This transit affords us an extraordinary opportunity to confront our own personal demons, but in a more peaceful atmosphere similar to sitting down to dine with them and having a civil conversation rather than on a battlefield where we are attempting to split each other's heads open with a battleaxe! This transit is far less traumatic and affords an opportunity to make great gains in this area. We may also reflect upon our association with the collective of humanity now. This may come through religion, Gemini, but could also come through our efforts to contribute to society through volunteering or social work of some kind. It is in these areas that we may be able to teach, but also are just as likely to come in contact with others that can teach us and open doors for us in this way.
SATURN IN FIFTH Retrograde February 7, 2012 I tend to refer to the fifth house as representing how we like to play. Saturn obviously is not conducive to play, but rather to where we need to put forth effort and apply ourselves. With this in mind, Gemini, we should not expect to be feeling too playful with this transit. We may be called upon to put forth effort where any fifth-house issue is concerned. Children could be more burdensome now for any number of reasons. This could include their health, college tuition, or perhaps we are just having problems relating to them now. This is also the house of gambling and financial speculation. Needless to say, Gemini, since Saturn requires effort to prosper, this is not normally considered a good time for such activities. There is the distinct possibility that you could lose your shirt! Where Saturn pertains to romance, this is often an indication of a larger than normal age difference between the persons in question. Also, these affairs may be fraught with difficulties but could prove to be opportunities for us to learn something about ourselves. These relationships may also be more somber, but have the added attraction of being formed on practicalities. This may not sound particularly romantic, but does add to the possibility of an enduring union if we can get over the hurdles. The fifth house is also the house of artistic/creative self-expression. Now, admittedly, we may not be all that enthusiastic about tackling something we consider fun right now. But if we have been considering expressing ourselves in this manner, this transit can give us the discipline to master the basics so that we can give ourselves a strong foundation for our endeavors later. That is to say, Gemini, the hard work can be accomplished now so that our efforts at creativity will become easier and much more enjoyable in the future. We may not feel all that sociable at this time, but we should avoid this tendency when we can. Saturn, just as Jupiter does, can offer us learning experiences. The difference is that Jupiter symbolizes learning with ease, whereas Saturn requires us to put forth effort in order to benefit from this influence. If we isolate ourselves we may spare ourselves the conflict inherent with interacting with others, but we also fail to allow ourselves the opportunity to learn more about ourselves, and others, that we gain through interacting with them. This transit may not be very pleasant but, as with all the transits of Saturn, the ultimate goal is to direct our attention to where we can learn something. This is how Saturn encourages us to teach ourselves and through this process add to our sense of inner-security.
SATURN RETROGRADE TRANSITS This is a time to reexamine any structures, systems, organizations and policies inundating our lives. This may be a favorable time to revamp any of these for greater efficiency and productivity. This is an opportune time to assess our own power and authority and to be honest with ourselves in this regard. We need to assess if we are holding ourselves back, or allowing others to do so, in some way. We need to learn how to fit in so that we may achieve our goals. We need to be objective about what we want and what others expect from us. Consequently, this may be a favorable time to reassess our relationships, both personal and business, and to determine which may need work and are salvageable, and those which we may have to let go. URANUS IN ELEVENTH
Uranus is the natural ruler of the eleventh house, so its energies are expressed more easily here. This house is associated with groups, professional organizations, friends, and goals and objectives. Any group or organizations we are involved with now will have to allow us to be ourselves. Perhaps we can be instrumental in steering the group onto a whole new course and initiate new improvements in how an organization runs or implement a new mission goal for the group in question. If, however, our associates are too conservative now to allow new insights, we are quite likely to rebel and remove ourselves from the association. This same situation may occur with our friends, Gemini. If they can accept the new approach we are taking to life, we get on rather well with them. If they find our views a bit too extreme, however, we may end old friendships and look for new ones. Our friends could also become a source of enlightenment for us now as their viewpoints might broaden our perspective and encourage us to allow new experiences into our lives. We can find now that things we had only dreamt of are actually real possibilities for us if we will but allow a new perspective to take hold within us. This is a social house, Gemini, and although we may clash with those we come in close contact with at times, some of these people may open the door to a whole new realm of possibilities if we allow them to. This is another time to keep our attitudes fluid and to be open to new ideas.
NEPTUNE IN NINTH
The ninth house is considered the house of higher education, among other things. With Neptune's transit of this house, the education is often in the sphere of religion, metaphysics, or our own personal philosophy about life. Now we tend to be questioning our attitudes and perspectives we previously held and opening ourselves to differing viewpoints along these lines. We may feel a sense of loss of equilibrium now because what we once held valid may no longer suit our purposes, but these new perspectives entering our lives now may not seem concrete enough to replace them. This is a time for patience, Gemini, as we might be feeling insecure in this area now and experiencing a bit of instability concerning these issues in our lives. We can open ourselves to a much broader philosophy of life if we allow these different perspectives into our lives now. This transit, as all of Neptune’s transits, takes several years so there is no rush at coming to conclusions now. Remember, Gemini, that even though your views may change, other people are still entitled to their beliefs; when this transit is over try to avoid the pitfall of pushing your new-found perspective onto others.
NEPTUNE IN TENTH February 3, 2012 The confusion often associated with transits of Neptune will now show up in our professional lives, careers, and how we wish to be seen in the public eye. We may even begin to question our career path now and wonder if what we are doing is adequate to a sense of accomplishment in our lives. This is a time when some people change careers. If this should describe your case, Gemini, be careful about your decision or you could end up in another unrewarding position and feel just as unfulfilled as you were before. This can also be a time when we run into opposition in the professional arena. This may not always be apparent, but sometimes people behind the scenes may block our efforts now. Relations with superiors may be clouded due to misunderstandings and relations with colleagues may be plagued by the same problems. We need to truly assess our needs as they relate to our professional lives and pursue what we need in this regard if we want to be happy with ourselves professionally. Neptune transiting here is good for any work regarding service to others or volunteer work. Do this only if you can do so in a true spirit of giving or else you will undermine your efforts. Creativity is another expression of Neptune transits, Gemini, and this could be a time to bring a bit of creativity into your professional life. This may be a beneficial use of this transit, too.
PLUTO IN EIGHTH
This is Pluto's natural house so we may expect to find Pluto’s intensity even more easily expressed now, Gemini. This is also one of the natural water houses related to the subconscious/unconscious mind. With Pluto’s propensity for digging, this may be a favorable time to delve into the unconscious and deal with any issues we may find hiding there. This transit gives us an opportunity to transform ourselves through such endeavors. Jointly-held resources might now become the source of power struggles, Gemini. Pluto is associated with a desire for power and we are not likely to respond meekly to being under someone else’s thumb financially or otherwise now. Refrain from debt if at all possible at this time. The eighth house is also associated with death and, although this does not mean that you are necessarily at risk, death could enter your life through the loss of someone close to you. This loss may have a powerful transformative influence on your life now. Keeping with the intensity of Pluto, you may feel an enormous sense of loss and a keen sense of grief should such misfortune befall you now. This is also the house of legacies and inheritances and perhaps if you do experience the loss of a person close to you now, you may benefit financially from the loss. This may be an influence that transforms your life in this way but, of course, this is a rather rare occurrence. Sex is also an eighth-house issue, Gemini, and with this transit we may see a great deal of intensity in sexual relationships now. This can act as a conduit to our unconscious and help us to understand ourselves on a much deeper level where sexual congress is concerned. At this time we should endeavor to be aware of what our union with others really entails. This gives us the opportunity to try and understand the underlying motivations behind our sex drive. For some, this may mean the less than romantic issues of power and control. For others, it could be an attempt to feed a hunger that may never have been adequately fed in childhood, which leaves us feeling ravenous and unable to be satiated. Whatever the case, Gemini, if we understand these motivations we have a far better chance of having a loving and passionate union with our partner than if we blindly expect our partner to understand our needs, when we may not completely understand what they are ourselves. To confront these types of issues may lead to a far more rewarding relationship if we have the courage to delve into ourselves.
