Gemini May 21 – June 20 Solar Chart House Transits If you know your Ascendant and/or Moon Sign, read that, too.
Gemini reading and planetary transits for the week of August 29, 2010. MOON IN TWELFTH
When the Moon transits the twelfth house we may feel a bit uneasy and the reason for this can actually be quite beneficial if we take advantage of it. The twelfth is one of the houses that symbolizes the subconscious/unconscious mind as well as where we find characteristics about ourselves that we tend to repress. Along with the Moon representing the past, this affords us a great opportunity. This transit can be used for self-examination of all the issues we tend to hide from others as well as ourselves. If we look at these characteristics we can find ways to enable expression of these traits to our benefit and add more to our lives. We probably will not feel very sociable at this time, but that can help us withdraw a bit for the self-examination that can be so beneficial now. Anything we have lurking in our subconscious or try to repress has a tendency to trip us up. With this transit, Gemini, we may find what these stumbling blocks are and find more appropriate ways to deal with them. Relationships with women may be a bit touchy now, Gemini, but do not overlook the possibility of a female helping us, in the role of a confidante, to resolve some of these issues we come across here.
MOON IN FIRST August 31, 2010 Whereas the Sun's transit of the first house makes for a healthy self-centeredness and assessment of our own personal goals, the Moon's transit of the first house acts on an emotional level. The Moon's transit of the first house stimulates us to be emotionally connected to friends and loved ones but, Gemini, we must be aware of our underlying motives. We can be very sympathetic to the needs of others, but can also be very demanding in an emotional sense. Insecurities may come into play here and make us feel a bit needy or even a bit panicky. We all like having a support system, but we must learn that ultimately our security lies within ourselves. Be supportive and seek support from others if you feel you need it at this time, Gemini, just be sure to balance the scales. Others want the same support when they are in need, too. MOON IN SECOND September 3, 2010 At this time second house considerations may be tinged with emotion and we may feel much attached to our possessions. But more likely, our possessions and income level may be an attempt to fill some emotional void. Of course, Gemini, no one wants to feel financially destitute, but we should examine the underlying motivation behind spending and acquisition at this time. What do these acquisitions represent to us on an unconscious level? This is not usually a good time to go on an emotional spending spree, but could be good for finding out what it is we are really trying to buy with our spending.
SUN IN FOURTH
The fourth house represents the home we grew up in; the home we wish to make for ourselves; the past, and the parent in the background of our childhood. When the Sun is transiting the fourth house, we will probably be focused on domestic concerns. Issues around the home, such as remodeling or possibly the consideration of purchasing a house, may be on our minds now. Our focus now will tend to be more home and family oriented as opposed to dealing with the outer world, Gemini, as now the Sun is opposite the tenth house of the public. We may have more close contact with the parents, particularly the one represented by this house, or perhaps issues from our past will resurface to be dealt with. This is a time, as in the Sun's transit of the first house, when we are advised to look inward. MERCURY IN FOURTH Retrograde Until September 12, 2010 The fourth house concerns our domestic scene, the home we grew up in, our past, the home we wish to make for ourselves as adults, and the less dominant parent in our lives. Mercury transits of the fourth house will focus our attention on the domestic scene, so we may experience a desire to withdraw from the outer world to examine this area of our lives. This need not be negative, Gemini, it is just that presently we tend to be focused on more personal concerns, especially those concerning our family and the past. If you should experience a problem, Gemini, it may be prudent to see if this has a connection to your past in some way. If so, this could be the key to resolving any issues that may surface now. Contact or communication with the parent symbolized by this house may also be part of our focus now, Gemini. This may indicate a degree of ease in our communications with this parent during this transit.
MERCURY RETROGRADE TRANSITS
Mercury goes retrograde three times a year for a period of about three weeks. At these times it has been observed that communications can go awry, as well as having difficulties where travel is concerned. Usually, this does not indicate accidents, but there may be flight delays with airlines or lost luggage. Hotel reservations may not work out as expected and so forth. We may get the time wrong for a business appointment or lunch with a friend and so on. Other misunderstandings with communications may occur as well, so strive to be clear about everything. Be sure to dot the I's and cross the T's. These times may not be propitious for contract negotiations or signings. Also, another caution with Mercury retrograde, may concern electronics. This is not usually considered a favorable time for installing new software on a computer as troubles may arise from the new applications. We should also keep in mind at these times that we are advised to back up our computers just in case we experience a computer crash and end up losing work and important data.
VENUS IN FIFTH
The fifth-house interests include romance, children, artistic/creative self-expression, financial speculation and gambling. This is the area of the chart where we like to play. When Venus transits here, Gemini, we may be a bit more interested than usual in having a good time. We may have an interest in expressing ourselves creatively, at least at the level of a hobby. As usual though, Venus may not afford the drive to do anything seriously long-term if we do not have the drive, as Venus in the fifth house indicates our primary interest is to enjoy ourselves. This is also a time when we may enjoy our children more than usual. We should get along with children quite well now and feel more loving toward them. Where creativity is concerned, Gemini, if we are not creatively inclined ourselves this could indicate a time when we are more capable of appreciating the creativity of others, usually in the form of music or art. Financial speculation could bring monetary gain now as could a little gambling but, as with all Venus transits, it would be wise to be careful about expenditures along these lines as you could always lose. Romance is normally given a boost with this transit, Gemini, and quite often we are more romantically and socially inclined than usual. If we are already involved, this could indicate a time when we are more romantic with our partner.
MARS IN FIFTH
This is the house of play, among other things, and this transit may see us putting a lot of energy into enjoying ourselves. This could include sports or any physical activity which gives us pleasure. Obviously, Gemini, this includes sex and most people will find an increase in their desire for intimacy now. The problem may be that Mars' expression may be rather selfish, so be sure to keep your partner's needs in mind as well. In dealing with your children now, Gemini, remember to keep a rein on becoming too domineering should any problems arise. A far better use of this energy would be to engage in activities with your children to use this energy positively. Where financial speculation and gambling are concerned, it may be wise to proceed with caution at this time as Mars is not known for having its wants put off. This can lead to unwise choices where money is concerned. For those people not so inclined to physical activity, the fifth house is also the house of artistic/creative self-expression. This might be a good time to put your energy into some creative task, Gemini, that you can really put your heart into. You will have the energy to make a good start with this transit. This is the natural house of the Sun and where we want to be allowed to be ourselves and to in some way be special. Mars' transits of the fifth house are usually not too troubling and we can allow ourselves to be ourselves, providing we are not too abrasive with others. This is the house of play and we should use this time to do so. There will be a time to concentrate on work, Gemini, when Mars enters the sixth house.
JUPITER IN ELEVENTH Retrograde Until November 17, 2010 With this transit of Jupiter you will probably feel more sociable and socializing with groups and your friends can prove quite beneficial now. In your profession this could mean profiting from networking in some way and, in this manner, find doors opening through which you may expand your horizons. Friends may also become a source of new opportunities now, Gemini, that can help us in attaining our goals. This is a time when others feel magnanimous and generous toward us. We should remember to return this sentiment in kind, for it is through this interaction with others that we may also help others now. This is not a time to be concerned with purely selfish motives, Gemini, for we are just as likely to prove as helpful to others as they are beneficial to us. It is through these interactions with others, Gemini, that we may learn a good deal not only about those we deal with and the world we live in, but also about ourselves. This can help us to understand what we truly want and how we can best go about achieving our goals and objectives by working in harmony with others. This is not only a favorable time to socialize in order to meet others that may help us achieve our ends, but also a good time for teamwork.
JUPITER RETROGRADE TRANSITS When transiting Jupiter turns retrograde, it affords us an opportunity to reassess where we may have exceeded the bounds of practicality. Have we overextended ourselves in business or in any other way for that matter? Now we have a chance to reevaluate our endeavors and to determine if our enthusiasm needs to be reined in a bit. This is a time to plan and prepare for opportunities that may present themselves when Jupiter turns direct again. Now is the time to determine if the course you are on, or the opportunities presented to you, are what you really want for yourself. SATURN IN FIFTH
I tend to refer to the fifth house as representing how we like to play. Saturn obviously is not conducive to play, but rather to where we need to put forth effort and apply ourselves. With this in mind, Gemini, we should not expect to be feeling too playful with this transit. We may be called upon to put forth effort where any fifth-house issue is concerned. Children could be more burdensome now for any number of reasons. This could include their health, college tuition, or perhaps we are just having problems relating to them now. This is also the house of gambling and financial speculation. Needless to say, Gemini, since Saturn requires effort to prosper, this is not normally considered a good time for such activities. There is the distinct possibility that you could lose your shirt! Where Saturn pertains to romance, this is often an indication of a larger than normal age difference between the persons in question. Also, these affairs may be fraught with difficulties but could prove to be opportunities for us to learn something about ourselves. These relationships may also be more somber, but have the added attraction of being formed on practicalities. This may not sound particularly romantic, but does add to the possibility of an enduring union if we can get over the hurdles. The fifth house is also the house of artistic/creative self-expression. Now, admittedly, we may not be all that enthusiastic about tackling something we consider fun right now. But if we have been considering expressing ourselves in this manner, this transit can give us the discipline to master the basics so that we can give ourselves a strong foundation for our endeavors later. That is to say, Gemini, the hard work can be accomplished now so that our efforts at creativity will become easier and much more enjoyable in the future. We may not feel all that sociable at this time, but we should avoid this tendency when we can. Saturn, just as Jupiter does, can offer us learning experiences. The difference is that Jupiter symbolizes learning with ease, whereas Saturn requires us to put forth effort in order to benefit from this influence. If we isolate ourselves we may spare ourselves the conflict inherent with interacting with others, but we also fail to allow ourselves the opportunity to learn more about ourselves, and others, that we gain through interacting with them. This transit may not be very pleasant but, as with all the transits of Saturn, the ultimate goal is to direct our attention to where we can learn something. This is how Saturn encourages us to teach ourselves and through this process add to our sense of inner-security.
URANUS IN TENTH Retrograde Until December 5, 2010 Tenth-house issues include our professional life, career, and how we wish to be seen in the public eye. With this transit, Gemini, we want to be in touch with our unconscious in this regard as anything we fail to acknowledge or deal with that is bothering us could potentially cause problems in this area now. For some people, Gemini, this transit can prove to be extraordinarily beneficial in our career and public life. New opportunities may become available to us, seemingly from out of the blue. This may indicate a time of initiating new endeavors professionally or new methods to improve productivity and efficiency. This might indicate a promotion or rise to power and more authority. This could, however, for some natives, indicate a fall from grace. Events may catch up with us seemingly from out of nowhere. We may clash with authority figures now or lose or leave our jobs. This may be an indication of striking out into a whole new field of endeavor and, although risky, this may be what we need to do if we want to be happier in the long run. Uranus is attempting to get us to examine this area of our lives and to be honest with ourselves, Gemini. If our job has become deadening, or we work under what we feel are repressive conditions, the urge for change in this area will be strong now. Be honest with yourself, for if change is called for it is likely to be much less disruptive if we initiate the change ourselves rather than have fate thrust it upon us.
URANUS RETROGRADE TRANSITS This is a favorable time to observe the changes in the world around you and to assess the impact these changes may have upon you on a personal level. This period of review may help you to adjust your course if the changes taking place around you seem to be impeding your progress, or may block it in the future. Observe and plan for now and postpone any changes until Uranus turns direct again. NEPTUNE IN NINTH Retrograde Until November 7, 2010 The ninth house is considered the house of higher education, among other things. With Neptune’s transit of this house, the education is often in the sphere of religion, metaphysics, or our own personal philosophy about life. Now we tend to be questioning our attitudes and perspectives we previously held and opening ourselves to differing viewpoints along these lines. We may feel a sense of loss of equilibrium now because what we once held valid may no longer suit our purposes, but these new perspectives entering our lives now may not seem concrete enough to replace them. This is a time for patience, Gemini, as we might be feeling insecure in this area now and experiencing a bit of instability concerning these issues in our lives. We can open ourselves to a much broader philosophy of life if we allow these different perspectives into our lives now. This transit, as all of Neptune’s transits, takes several years so there is no rush at coming to conclusions now. Remember, Gemini, that even though your views may change, other people are still entitled to their beliefs; when this transit is over try to avoid the pitfall of pushing your new-found perspective onto others.
NEPTUNE RETROGRADE TRANSITS This is a time when we are advised to try to tune into our unconscious mind and examine what we find lying there. Assess your fears or any illusions you may be laboring under and try to ground them in reality in order to deal with them more effectively. Anything that leaves us feeling we are in a state of confusion should be dealt with also. Assess also if this may be connected to what is going on in the world around you. Endeavor to use your energy in a positive and productive manner and avoid escapism of any sort. Although Neptune is nebulous, we need to strive for clarity now in order to keep from deceiving ourselves and to deal with any issues confronting us in a practical manner. PLUTO IN EIGHTH Retrograde Until September 14, 2010 This is Pluto's natural house so we may expect to find Pluto’s intensity even more easily expressed now, Gemini. This is also one of the natural water houses related to the subconscious/unconscious mind. With Pluto’s propensity for digging, this may be a favorable time to delve into the unconscious and deal with any issues we may find hiding there. This transit gives us an opportunity to transform ourselves through such endeavors. Jointly-held resources might now become the source of power struggles, Gemini. Pluto is associated with a desire for power and we are not likely to respond meekly to being under someone else’s thumb financially or otherwise now. Refrain from debt if at all possible at this time. The eighth house is also associated with death and, although this does not mean that you are necessarily at risk, death could enter your life through the loss of someone close to you. This loss may have a powerful transformative influence on your life now. Keeping with the intensity of Pluto, you may feel an enormous sense of loss and a keen sense of grief should such misfortune befall you now. This is also the house of legacies and inheritances and perhaps if you do experience the loss of a person close to you now, you may benefit financially from the loss. This may be an influence that transforms your life in this way but, of course, this is a rather rare occurrence. Sex is also an eighth-house issue, Gemini, and with this transit we may see a great deal of intensity in sexual relationships now. This can act as a conduit to our unconscious and help us to understand ourselves on a much deeper level where sexual congress is concerned. At this time we should endeavor to be aware of what our union with others really entails. This gives us the opportunity to try and understand the underlying motivations behind our sex drive. For some, this may mean the less than romantic issues of power and control. For others, it could be an attempt to feed a hunger that may never have been adequately fed in childhood, which leaves us feeling ravenous and unable to be satiated. Whatever the case, Gemini, if we understand these motivations we have a far better chance of having a loving and passionate union with our partner than if we blindly expect our partner to understand our needs, when we may not completely understand what they are ourselves. To confront these types of issues may lead to a far more rewarding relationship if we have the courage to delve into ourselves.
PLUTO RETROGRADE TRANSITS As usual with any retrograde planetary motion, this is a time to step back and review our endeavors and to reassess what direction we are taking and just what it is we wish to accomplish. This is a favorable time to evaluate our progress toward our goals, but also to determine how these objectives may benefit others as well. We need to become aware of how we not only influence our own lives, but the lives of others, too.
