the week of January 29, 2012. MOON IN TENTH
The tenth house is related to our career and our public image. This may be a time when we are more emotionally in tune with those we come in contact with in our career. Keep in mind that emotions are on public display at this time as well, Leo, so any displays of emotion you may want to ensure are appropriate for the moment. This may be a time when we reveal more about ourselves through emotional reactions than we wish to. The tenth house also represents the dominant parent and could indicate some interaction with this parent at this time. Since career is tied in here, we might also find ourselves questioning whether our choice of career was to please ourselves or to inadvertently gain the approval of a parent.
MOON IN ELEVENTH
February 1, 2012 The eleventh house contains friends, professional organizations, and our hopes, wishes and goals in life. With the Moon transiting the eleventh house we may find our emotions coming into play in any of these areas. As always, Leo, watch for inappropriate emotional responses and, as with all transits of the Moon, this could be an indication of females or at least one woman playing a larger role in this area now. This could be a time of connecting with friends on a deeper level, Leo, and further strengthening the bonds between us. It could also indicate a time when we are apt to examine our goals, dreams and objectives to find how to better make these dreams a reality, or to determine if they are unrealistic after all. In any of these areas, Leo, as with all lunar transits, we should watch for emotional responses that stem from our past and may have little to do with the present situation. This will almost guarantee an inappropriate response to the present moment. If this should be the case, do not despair, Leo. As with all transits of the Moon, this can give us a window into the past so that we can adjust our behavior and responses to the present moment and free ourselves from negative response patterns.
MOON IN TWELFTH
February 4, 2012 When the Moon transits the twelfth house we may feel a bit uneasy and the reason for this can actually be quite beneficial if we take advantage of it. The twelfth is one of the houses that symbolizes the subconscious/unconscious mind as well as where we find characteristics about ourselves that we tend to repress. Along with the Moon representing the past, this affords us a great opportunity. This transit can be used for self-examination of all the issues we tend to hide from others as well as ourselves. If we look at these characteristics we can find ways to enable expression of these traits to our benefit and add more to our lives. We probably will not feel very sociable at this time, but that can help us withdraw a bit for the self-examination that can be so beneficial now. Anything we have lurking in our subconscious or try to repress has a tendency to trip us up. With this transit, Leo, we may find what these stumbling blocks are and find more appropriate ways to deal with them. Relationships with women may be a bit touchy now, Leo, but do not overlook the possibility of a female helping us, in the role of a confidante, to resolve some of these issues we come across here.
MOON IN FIRST
February 6, 2012 Whereas the Sun's transit of the first house makes for a healthy self-centeredness and assessment of our own personal goals, the Moon's transit of the first house acts on an emotional level. The Moon's transit of the first house stimulates us to be emotionally connected to friends and loved ones but, Leo, we must be aware of our underlying motives. We can be very sympathetic to the needs of others, but can also be very demanding in an emotional sense. Insecurities may come into play here and make us feel a bit needy or even a bit panicky. We all like having a support system, but we must learn that ultimately our security lies within ourselves. Be supportive and seek support from others if you feel you need it at this time, Leo, just be sure to balance the scales. Others want the same support when they are in need, too.
MOON IN SECOND
February 8, 2012 At this time second house considerations may be tinged with emotion and we may feel much attached to our possessions. But more likely, our possessions and income level may be an attempt to fill some emotional void. Of course, Leo, no one wants to feel financially destitute, but we should examine the underlying motivation behind spending and acquisition at this time. What do these acquisitions represent to us on an unconscious level? This is not usually a good time to go on an emotional spending spree, but could be good for finding out what it is we are really trying to buy with our spending.
MOON IN THIRD
February 10, 2012 When the Moon transits the third house we may expect our communications with others to take on emotional overtones. This may help us to communicate on a deeper feeling level with those close to us. This could be particularly useful in intimate relationships. Siblings may come into play here, Leo, and if we experience problems we should be sure that these issues do not stem from sibling rivalry from our past. Clear the air, but do so gently if you do experience such difficulties. This does not mean there will be a problem, but you should be aware just in case. Unconscious habit patterns of response could create a problem if we speak before we think, Leo. This most often shows up in relations with people we have contact with on a regular basis. Sometimes, in these instances, we react on "auto-pilot" and can inadvertently cause friction with those in our daily lives.
MOON IN FOURTH
February 12, 2012 This indicates a time when we are in "home-body" mode and a time when we may withdraw to our homes to relax or to do some puttering around the house. We can, and should, use this time for self-examination. The fourth house is one of the houses associated with the subconscious/unconscious mind as well as our past – the home we grew up in. This could be an aid to reviewing our past, Leo, and to determine how much influence this still has on us today. We may not wish to be alone right now, but a little bit of solitude at this time is often beneficial. We do not have to spend all of our time alone, however, as this is also a good time to interact with the family. You will probably want to feel more emotionally connected now. Since the Moon is connected to habitual behavior and the fourth house is representative of our early home life, this is a good time for self-examination. If we discover problems this is a good time to correct them, so do attempt to set aside some time for yourself, Leo. This is the Moon's natural house and the natural sign on this house is Cancer. This should remind us that even though we may want to be emotionally connected at this time, we should avoid the negative side of this which is clinging to those we love. People that feel suffocated often have a desire to flee. The fourth house was traditionally linked to the mother, although some associate this house with the less dominant parent today. So this may indicate a time when we have closer contact with this parent. Although this is a neutral manifestation, it might indicate clearing up a problem from the past or merely a time when we feel a closer bond with this parent.
SUN IN SEVENTH
When we cross the Descendant into the seventh house, Leo, we should also endeavor to change our perspective a bit. The first six houses are more personal areas of interest to us, but the seventh through twelfth are houses that symbolize our interactions with the outer world and those that live in it. The seventh house is the area concerned with marriage, formalized or not; business partnerships, public relations, the lower courts, and open enemies, as this is a one-on-one relationship, too, and through conflict we may learn more about ourselves. At this time, Leo, we need to focus on our relationships. Are we getting what we need and also are we giving what our partner needs as well? Issues such as these may take precedence at this time and if there are any conflicts we may need to make an effort to resolve them. Our focus should not be solely on our own desires. This is not to say that we should expect problems with this transit, but we may become more aware that we are part of a team and that by working in harmony with others we can have more rewarding relationships with them. No one wants to be used or unappreciated, but have you ever noticed the glowing feeling you get when your actions put a smile on another's face? If you are facing problems of any sort in relation to the seventh house, Leo, and you do not have a partner, you can still reach out to others. This may be a favorable time to look for an advisor of any sort to give you a different perspective on any problems you may be faced with.
MERCURY IN SEVENTH
Mercury's transit of the seventh house is an indication of increased communications with others. This may be on an intimate level, as with our spouse, but could just as easily include business partners. This is also an indication of a time when we might consult with professionals for a variety of reasons. Marriage counseling, if we are experiencing problems in our intimate relationships, could be an issue, but this does not mean we will experience communications difficulties with our mates, Leo. It could merely indicate that we spend more time talking to one another. Business contracts and negotiations may be enhanced by this transit as well as any legal issues we may be faced with at this time. The main focus of Mercury during this time is that communications with others will be more active now. This is not a good time to keep to ourselves necessarily, Leo, but to interact with others as Mercury will aid communications now.
VENUS IN EIGHTH
The most obvious manifestation of this transit, Leo, is that our interest is drawn to the more sexual side of intimacy, but what may not be so apparent is why. This is Pluto's natural house and Pluto symbolizes not only intensity, but transformation as well. The sexual side of relationships will probably be more intense than usual now and this can act as a vehicle to get us in touch with the subconscious/unconscious aspects of our minds. This means that the very intensity that brings more spice and fireworks into our love life, is just as likely to touch upon some very deep issues buried in our psyche. For instance, these issues include jealousy, fear of abandonment, being vindictive toward a partner that disappoints us, and so forth. This does not mean that this is a bad transit, Leo, but the intensity of this transit may make us feel a bit touchy in this regard. It merely means we are granted an opportunity to get in touch with these deeper aspects of ourselves and transform them. This does indicate that sexual relationships at this time may have a greater impact upon us, for good or ill, so we may want to examine closely any issues surfacing now. For others, this may just indicate some additional zing in our sex lives. Other people's money and jointly-held assets are another concern of the eighth house. With Venus transiting here, Leo, this could be an indication of financial benefit in these areas. This could perhaps be a time when we might come into an inheritance or possibly obtain a loan we need.
VENUS IN NINTH
February 8, 2012 This transit may indicate a time when music or art, both connected to Venus, may broaden our horizons in some way. This could be through visiting an art gallery or museum, attending a concert or perhaps through a field of study, as the ninth house is connected to higher education. This is also the house of long-distance journeys, Leo, so a vacation at this time may be in order. Through the influence of Venus this would probably turn out to be an enjoyable experience and quite educational. The planet Venus influences diplomacy so we may get along quite well with people from different countries and cultures. We may even be attracted to foreigners at this time. This is a time when our desire for pleasure and socializing may not only be pleasant but educational as well, Leo.
MARS IN SECOND
Retrograde Until April 13, 2012 At this time material possessions and money issues may take up a good deal of our interest and we may feel frustrated or energetic in our approach to these issues now. If we feel we need more, we are likely to put a good deal of energy into acquiring more of what we want. If we feel our possessions are adequate, we may put them to use for gaining even more, perhaps by expanding a current venture and so forth. Spending now may not be wise unless we keep the impatience of Mars in check, Leo. This may be a time when we spend merely to gratify our ego, so be aware of this tendency and avoid uselessly squandering your resources now. Personal values are also a second-house issue and this may be a time to share these values, as well as our assets, with others. Be careful in your approach to this as it could lead to clashes. Others have a right to their value system, too. At this time you can put a good deal of energy into second-house concerns, Leo. The caution is to examine the motivation behind using this energy and avoid thoughtlessly squandering what we have and depleting our resources. Some personal talent or gift we have may also be brought into play now that might be financially beneficial to us. Whatever the case, Leo, be sure to keeps Mars' energy in check and you can use it to further your second-house concerns constructively.
MARS RETROGRADE TRANSITS
Where Mars retrograde transits are concerned, this may indicate a time when we may need to adjust our current course in life. Whether that course is related to relationships or business, we may need to reassess what we are doing or alter it; to be sure we are headed in the direction we wish to follow. Another indication is that things from the past that still irk us, or things we did not deal with properly, may resurface now. This affords us an opportunity to reevaluate these things and take the appropriate steps to deal with these issues now. We may have to learn an appropriate, healthy expression of anger or possibly learn to be more assertive. When Mars is retrograde, it is not usually considered a favorable time to begin new ventures. This is a time for Mars energy to be directed inward, so that we may assess where we are going and review our strategies for getting there. When we do otherwise now, we usually run into unforeseen obstacles that tend to thwart our progress.
JUPITER IN TENTH
This transit is considered favorable for professional advancement and recognition, but with the usual warning where Jupiter is concerned, and that is we need to keep in mind the propensity to overdo it. In this case, this would include becoming too pushy or expanding beyond our real limitations. In plain words, Leo – do not promise what you cannot deliver. We should beware of arrogance toward our superiors and colleagues now as this could undermine the potential benefits that we can accrue. This is a time when we can definitely broaden our horizons professionally if we keep ourselves restrained a bit. This transit usually denotes opportunities for professional and public recognition as long as we do not alienate others with our demeanor. Use this time wisely and your horizons will broaden accordingly, Leo. Refrain from acting as if you are more than you are, but for most people this should not be a problem. Normally, this is a favorable time to receive recognition for your work, both for your present efforts as well as your past endeavors. Give credit to others if they deserve it as Jupiter is associated with being generous. We can garner accolades now far more easily than is the norm as long as we remember to keep a sense of humility in our dealings with others. Foreigners or distant countries may play a role in our careers now. This is considered the house of the more influential parent in our development, Leo. With this in mind, our relationship with our parents could be quite favorable now and particularly with the parent represented by this house.
SATURN IN THIRD
Retrograde February 7, 2012 The third house relates to our immediate environment, communications, early education, siblings and close relatives, neighbors, short-distance journeys and so forth. With Saturn's transit of the third house, we are most likely to see this planet's influence in our immediate environment in how we interact with others. That is to say, in how we communicate with others and how they respond to us. This obviously includes listening, but even more important for some people now is learning to listen to ourselves. By this I am referring to "self-talk". This can be very important now as this transit often symbolizes a rather depressive mind-set for some people as well as a tendency to want to withdraw, which in most cases may only prove to exacerbate any problems we may have to deal with now. Listening to others can provide us with information on who knows how to press our buttons. That is to say, Leo, if there are people in our lives that are good at manipulating us and getting us to subjugate our own needs in order to satisfy theirs, we may be able to spot this weakness in our personality. This may, for some individuals, be a good time to look into assertiveness training if this is a problem for us. If we should find others a bit uncomfortable with us now it does not necessarily mean that we are being self-centered, but rather that we are perhaps changing and they are not quite sure how to respond to the new person that we may be turning into. In this regard, we may meet with resistance but we should persevere for our own sense of security. We also have a responsibility to ourselves for we cannot help others if we do not take care of ourselves. We should not underestimate the influence that self-talk can have over us to shape our outlook on life. The third is one of the houses naturally ruled by Mercury. Mercury tends to color how we perceive things and with Saturn transiting here, as was previously stated, we may tend toward a feeling of depression or a desire to withdraw. This is a good time to learn to monitor our thought processes closely. Many people are astounded at the number of negative thoughts that daily trickle through our minds. If you are feeling depressed now, this is an excellent opportunity to examine your thought patterns. Even people that consider themselves to be positive types find that they are thinking rather negatively at this time. If you are feeling depressed, Leo, there is a good likelihood that it may be attributable to your self-talk, which colors your perspective. So listening to others is important now, but so is listening to yourself. If you experience depression with this transit examine a habit many of us acquire, and that is the habit of pummeling ourselves with negative thought patterns. This is a favorable time to find these patterns and change them. We can also learn to be more accepting of ourselves and our human frailties; by doing so we can lift ourselves out of depression and adopt a more positive outlook on life that will benefit us for the rest of our days.
SATURN RETROGRADE TRANSITS This is a time to reexamine any structures, systems, organizations and policies inundating our lives. This may be a favorable time to revamp any of these for greater efficiency and productivity. This is an opportune time to assess our own power and authority and to be honest with ourselves in this regard. We need to assess if we are holding ourselves back, or allowing others to do so, in some way. We need to learn how to fit in so that we may achieve our goals. We need to be objective about what we want and what others expect from us. Consequently, this may be a favorable time to reassess our relationships, both personal and business, and to determine which may need work and are salvageable, and those which we may have to let go.
URANUS IN NINTH
With Uranus transiting through the ninth house, our viewpoints and personal philosophy of life may be in for some change, Leo. This transit may open our eyes to new ways of looking at the world and the people inhabiting it. We should allow ourselves to be open to these insights and new way of seeing things. Failure to do so could prove bothersome now, bringing the disruptive influence of Uranus into our lives more heavily. This could be a time for new interests or areas of study to enter our lives. This might help us to expand our perspective, and we may find that unconsciously we have allowed our vision of the world, life and its many possibilities, to be narrowed. We may do more traveling now than usual and, as in the third house, this does not necessarily mean accidents will occur. We should, however, endeavor to be patient and release whatever is trying to break through now in an appropriate manner as this will greatly minimize the likelihood of accidents at this time. Legal matters here, just as in the seventh house, may prove difficult now. It is best, if at all possible, to avoid legal entanglements with this transit as they may be rather difficult to deal with. Uranus is attempting to broaden your perspective now, Leo, and if you allow this to happen, this transit will prove to be far less troublesome.
NEPTUNE IN SEVENTH
All relationships are likely to be influenced by this transit and usually not so favorably. The underlying cause for problems is a lack of clarity in our communications or our understanding of the situation in question. This can be exacerbated by the fact that sometimes others are not clear with us. This may be intentional, Leo, but not necessarily so. In intimate relationships, we must strive for clarity with any problems we are facing. This may be made more difficult if our partner has a hard time articulating exactly what is wrong or shuts down communications. We cannot fix a problem if we do not know what it is. By the same token, we must avoid self-deception now. We may not see that a problem exists if we are putting too much effort into idealizing a relationship to see the truth. Once again, Leo, we cannot fix a problem we are unaware of. Business dealings could become a source of problems now, particularly if we are involved in partnerships. Neptune transits can indicate being swindled, so proceed with caution in any existing partnerships and it may be wise to forego forming new ones now. There may not be enough information available to make your decision, and since this is often detrimental to seeking out advisors you should not lean too heavily looking for help in this quarter either. If at all possible avoid court cases now as well, Leo. Too much information not at your disposal and problems from unseen quarters might cause problems for you now.
NEPTUNE IN EIGHTH
February 3, 2012 Since the eighth house includes sex, death, taxes, joint finances and other people’s money, and is one of the houses linked to the subconscious/unconscious mind, we may expect to see Neptune's influence in any of these areas now. Sex may find us attempting to attain some sort of otherworldly union in this regard. Although this may prove to be delightful, Leo, remember the tendency to idealization where Neptune is concerned. This could take an otherwise enchanting relationship and leave us disappointed when we realize we are all merely human after all. This tendency is how we lessen the value of a joyous relationship with unrealistic expectations. This is a lot of pressure to put on a relationship and can doom it to failure. Death may enter our lives now and usually through the departure of someone close that touches us deeply. This may open us up to questions of how we connect to the collective of humanity and even to the meaning of existence itself. Finances can be troublesome now. Be careful to pay your tax bill and monitor closely any joint assets now as Neptune can indicate fraud, so be careful about others dipping into the till. This is not usually a favorable time to seek a loan. This may be an auspicious time to delve into our own unconscious and find out how what is lying there influences our lives. The doors are now open, Leo, and if we need to, this is also a good time to get assistance along these lines from someone that can act as a guide where these matters are concerned.
PLUTO IN SIXTH
During this transit, Leo, it would be wise to keep a close watch on your health. We may feel driven now and this can lead to inadequate rest, which could be a precursor to the onset of health problems. Do not exhaust yourself now and listen to your body. If it is crying out for rest, take the time to do so. This could be a favorable time to adopt a whole new health regimen. Now we may be able to make up for a sedentary lifestyle that we have followed for years by instituting a sensible exercise program to get ourselves back into shape and optimum health. Diet is also a sixth-house concern, Leo, so we may change our eating habits and follow a healthier diet plan. Be aware that both exercise and diet changes should be discussed with your physician in order to avoid doing more harm than good. The sixth house also deals with issues surrounding our work, Leo. This may prove troublesome for some natives as we might see what we had worked for crumbling around us. We may experience clashes with our superiors or co-workers. Some people may even lose their jobs now. As distressing as this may be at the time, it is best to try to remain objective about the situation. If you are having serious problems on the job this may be a good time to look for other employment. For some people, this transit may indicate finding a completely different line of work to pursue. In this regard, this transit may initially prove quite problematic, but the end result could be finding a far more rewarding line of work.
