the week of August 29, 2010. MOON IN TENTH
The tenth house is related to our career and our public image. This may be a time when we are more emotionally in tune with those we come in contact with in our career. Keep in mind that emotions are on public display at this time as well, Leo, so any displays of emotion you may want to ensure are appropriate for the moment. This may be a time when we reveal more about ourselves through emotional reactions than we wish to. The tenth house also represents the dominant parent and could indicate some interaction with this parent at this time. Since career is tied in here, we might also find ourselves questioning whether our choice of career was to please ourselves or to inadvertently gain the approval of a parent.
MOON IN ELEVENTH
August 31, 2010 The eleventh house contains friends, professional organizations, and our hopes, wishes and goals in life. With the Moon transiting the eleventh house we may find our emotions coming into play in any of these areas. As always, Leo, watch for inappropriate emotional responses and, as with all transits of the Moon, this could be an indication of females or at least one woman playing a larger role in this area now. This could be a time of connecting with friends on a deeper level, Leo, and further strengthening the bonds between us. It could also indicate a time when we are apt to examine our goals, dreams and objectives to find how to better make these dreams a reality, or to determine if they are unrealistic after all. In any of these areas, Leo, as with all lunar transits, we should watch for emotional responses that stem from our past and may have little to do with the present situation. This will almost guarantee an inappropriate response to the present moment. If this should be the case, do not despair, Leo. As with all transits of the Moon, this can give us a window into the past so that we can adjust our behavior and responses to the present moment and free ourselves from negative response patterns.
MOON IN TWELFTH
September 3, 2010 When the Moon transits the twelfth house we may feel a bit uneasy and the reason for this can actually be quite beneficial if we take advantage of it. The twelfth is one of the houses that symbolizes the subconscious/unconscious mind as well as where we find characteristics about ourselves that we tend to repress. Along with the Moon representing the past, this affords us a great opportunity. This transit can be used for self-examination of all the issues we tend to hide from others as well as ourselves. If we look at these characteristics we can find ways to enable expression of these traits to our benefit and add more to our lives. We probably will not feel very sociable at this time, but that can help us withdraw a bit for the self-examination that can be so beneficial now. Anything we have lurking in our subconscious or try to repress has a tendency to trip us up. With this transit, Leo, we may find what these stumbling blocks are and find more appropriate ways to deal with them. Relationships with women may be a bit touchy now, Leo, but do not overlook the possibility of a female helping us, in the role of a confidante, to resolve some of these issues we come across here.
SUN IN SECOND
The second house is usually referred to as the money house, but keep in mind that also included here are our personal values and innate talents as well as how we earn our income. Transits of the second bring all these issues to light, Leo. Some of us may wish to acquire possessions, only later to find that what we own ends up possessing us. We wish to have control of our financial destiny, but do not go against your own personal value system in order to do so, or it could be reason for regret later on, Leo.
MERCURY IN SECOND
Retrograde Until September 12, 2010 Our focus at this time will be on material assets or income, as well as our personal value system. This could be a time when we are more interested in our income level or on business to some extent. This may indicate a good time for planning a business venture, Leo, or hammering out the details as long as we scrutinize things carefully. This could also be a time when our personal values get more of our attention as well as discussing these issues with others. This could include religion or spiritual as well as philosophical beliefs and communicating and sharing our values with others. Innate talents are also a second-house matter, Leo, and we may now focus on these talents possibly for financial gain.
MERCURY RETROGRADE TRANSITS
Mercury goes retrograde three times a year for a period of about three weeks. At these times it has been observed that communications can go awry, as well as having difficulties where travel is concerned. Usually, this does not indicate accidents, but there may be flight delays with airlines or lost luggage. Hotel reservations may not work out as expected and so forth. We may get the time wrong for a business appointment or lunch with a friend and so on. Other misunderstandings with communications may occur as well, so strive to be clear about everything. Be sure to dot the I's and cross the T's. These times may not be propitious for contract negotiations or signings. Also, another caution with Mercury retrograde, may concern electronics. This is not usually considered a favorable time for installing new software on a computer as troubles may arise from the new applications. We should also keep in mind at these times that we are advised to back up our computers just in case we experience a computer crash and end up losing work and important data.
VENUS IN THIRD
We will probably experience greater ease in our communications at this time, Leo, as Venus allows us to express ourselves in a pleasing manner. These communications may be with siblings, friends, neighbors or possibly customers as some astrologers attribute commerce to the third house. Our everyday environment may seem very pleasant to us now, Leo. Also, the third house is one of the education houses so perhaps some artistic interest of study may catch our attention now.
MARS IN THIRD
This transit will tend to energize our immediate environment. Communications with siblings, neighbors or customers may be quite active now. Remember though to avoid being abrasive, as this could create problems rather than resolve them. Short-distance travel is another third-house concern, Leo, and we may be required to be on the go more than usual now. Be aware of any tendency to be impatient as this could lead to accidents if we are not careful. Education is another issue of the third house, Leo, and we can put a lot of energy into a new field of study if necessary or research to resolve any problems we are facing, perhaps in business. Usually, we have a good deal of mental energy now and the trick, as always with Mars, is to use this energy constructively rather than to be pugnacious.
JUPITER IN NINTH
Retrograde Until November 17, 2010 This is one of Jupiter's natural houses as this house is associated with the sign, Sagittarius, which Jupiter rules. Once Jupiter was associated with the twelfth house and the sign of Pisces, which it is now considered the co-ruler of. So Jupiter’s energy will function quite well in the ninth house. This transit is commonly associated with an expansion of the mind and our perspective on life. This may come through those we come in contact with, Leo, through the issues associated with the ninth house, such as religion or possibly philosophy; or perhaps through travel. Here journeys are usually long-distance and outside the borders of our native country. Foreigners and their culture may open our eyes to a new way of seeing the world and, in this manner, expand our horizons as well. This may be on a personal level, but this could include business opportunities, too. The ninth house is also associated with publishing and, in this regard, this could be a favorable time to share what we have learned with others. This could be a good time for writing, Leo, but this could also be a good time for teaching others in a more direct manner as well. The main focus of this transit is to expand our viewpoint and our horizons, by opening our minds to the greater world and those that inhabit it. To get the most from this transit we must be open to this opportunity.
JUPITER RETROGRADE TRANSITS When transiting Jupiter turns retrograde, it affords us an opportunity to reassess where we may have exceeded the bounds of practicality. Have we overextended ourselves in business or in any other way for that matter? Now we have a chance to reevaluate our endeavors and to determine if our enthusiasm needs to be reined in a bit. This is a time to plan and prepare for opportunities that may present themselves when Jupiter turns direct again. Now is the time to determine if the course you are on, or the opportunities presented to you, are what you really want for yourself. SATURN IN THIRD
The third house relates to our immediate environment, communications, early education, siblings and close relatives, neighbors, short-distance journeys and so forth. With Saturn's transit of the third house, we are most likely to see this planet's influence in our immediate environment in how we interact with others. That is to say, in how we communicate with others and how they respond to us. This obviously includes listening, but even more important for some people now is learning to listen to ourselves. By this I am referring to "self-talk". This can be very important now as this transit often symbolizes a rather depressive mind-set for some people as well as a tendency to want to withdraw, which in most cases may only prove to exacerbate any problems we may have to deal with now. Listening to others can provide us with information on who knows how to press our buttons. That is to say, Leo, if there are people in our lives that are good at manipulating us and getting us to subjugate our own needs in order to satisfy theirs, we may be able to spot this weakness in our personality. This may, for some individuals, be a good time to look into assertiveness training if this is a problem for us. If we should find others a bit uncomfortable with us now it does not necessarily mean that we are being self-centered, but rather that we are perhaps changing and they are not quite sure how to respond to the new person that we may be turning into. In this regard, we may meet with resistance but we should persevere for our own sense of security. We also have a responsibility to ourselves for we cannot help others if we do not take care of ourselves. We should not underestimate the influence that self-talk can have over us to shape our outlook on life. The third is one of the houses naturally ruled by Mercury. Mercury tends to color how we perceive things and with Saturn transiting here, as was previously stated, we may tend toward a feeling of depression or a desire to withdraw. This is a good time to learn to monitor our thought processes closely. Many people are astounded at the number of negative thoughts that daily trickle through our minds. If you are feeling depressed now, this is an excellent opportunity to examine your thought patterns. Even people that consider themselves to be positive types find that they are thinking rather negatively at this time. If you are feeling depressed, Leo, there is a good likelihood that it may be attributable to your self-talk, which colors your perspective. So listening to others is important now, but so is listening to yourself. If you experience depression with this transit examine a habit many of us acquire, and that is the habit of pummeling ourselves with negative thought patterns. This is a favorable time to find these patterns and change them. We can also learn to be more accepting of ourselves and our human frailties; by doing so we can lift ourselves out of depression and adopt a more positive outlook on life that will benefit us for the rest of our days.
URANUS IN EIGHTH
Retrograde Until December 5, 2010 This is another of the houses associated with the subconscious/unconscious mind and transformation through dealing with what is buried there. Uranus is also associated with the unconscious and what within it is attempting to break free. Therefore, Leo, this transit may prove to be chaotic for some. While Pluto, natural ruler of the eighth house, usually brings about drastic change in a gradual manner, Uranus tends to symbolize very sudden and abrupt changes so this may be a time of instability for some people. Sometimes death may enter our lives now, but usually through others we are close to. Subsequently, this could lead to some sort of inheritance. Shared assets and resources are another eighth-house issue, and just as with the second house, opposite the eighth, the warning here is similar – keep your position fluid. This is not a favorable time to have your financial security too closely aligned with others. Things could change financially for those you are partnered with and, if you are too dependent on their financial situation remaining stable, your finances may suffer as a result should their fortunes decline. Sex is another eighth-house matter, Leo, and this may symbolize a new sexual relationship coming into your life. This would likely be with someone different from anyone you have known thus far. The usual age difference might apply as well in this regard. This would probably prove to be very exciting and quite intense, but the usual warning about Uranus and relationships applies here, too. Do not rely on the stability of this relationship until it has proven itself. Uranus is not noted for fostering stable relationships. That takes time and, considering that you are going through changes now, it may merely mean that the new relationship will turn out to be nothing more than a pleasant distraction.
URANUS RETROGRADE TRANSITS This is a favorable time to observe the changes in the world around you and to assess the impact these changes may have upon you on a personal level. This period of review may help you to adjust your course if the changes taking place around you seem to be impeding your progress, or may block it in the future. Observe and plan for now and postpone any changes until Uranus turns direct again. NEPTUNE IN SEVENTH
Retrograde Until November 7, 2010 All relationships are likely to be influenced by this transit and usually not so favorably. The underlying cause for problems is a lack of clarity in our communications or our understanding of the situation in question. This can be exacerbated by the fact that sometimes others are not clear with us. This may be intentional, Leo, but not necessarily so. In intimate relationships, we must strive for clarity with any problems we are facing. This may be made more difficult if our partner has a hard time articulating exactly what is wrong or shuts down communications. We cannot fix a problem if we do not know what it is. By the same token, we must avoid self-deception now. We may not see that a problem exists if we are putting too much effort into idealizing a relationship to see the truth. Once again, Leo, we cannot fix a problem we are unaware of. Business dealings could become a source of problems now, particularly if we are involved in partnerships. Neptune transits can indicate being swindled, so proceed with caution in any existing partnerships and it may be wise to forego forming new ones now. There may not be enough information available to make your decision, and since this is often detrimental to seeking out advisors you should not lean too heavily looking for help in this quarter either. If at all possible avoid court cases now as well, Leo. Too much information not at your disposal and problems from unseen quarters might cause problems for you now.
NEPTUNE RETROGRADE TRANSITS This is a time when we are advised to try to tune into our unconscious mind and examine what we find lying there. Assess your fears or any illusions you may be laboring under and try to ground them in reality in order to deal with them more effectively. Anything that leaves us feeling we are in a state of confusion should be dealt with also. Assess also if this may be connected to what is going on in the world around you. Endeavor to use your energy in a positive and productive manner and avoid escapism of any sort. Although Neptune is nebulous, we need to strive for clarity now in order to keep from deceiving ourselves and to deal with any issues confronting us in a practical manner. PLUTO IN SIXTH
Retrograde Until September 14, 2010 During this transit, Leo, it would be wise to keep a close watch on your health. We may feel driven now and this can lead to inadequate rest, which could be a precursor to the onset of health problems. Do not exhaust yourself now and listen to your body. If it is crying out for rest, take the time to do so. This could be a favorable time to adopt a whole new health regimen. Now we may be able to make up for a sedentary lifestyle that we have followed for years by instituting a sensible exercise program to get ourselves back into shape and optimum health. Diet is also a sixth-house concern, Leo, so we may change our eating habits and follow a healthier diet plan. Be aware that both exercise and diet changes should be discussed with your physician in order to avoid doing more harm than good. The sixth house also deals with issues surrounding our work, Leo. This may prove troublesome for some natives as we might see what we had worked for crumbling around us. We may experience clashes with our superiors or co-workers. Some people may even lose their jobs now. As distressing as this may be at the time, it is best to try to remain objective about the situation. If you are having serious problems on the job this may be a good time to look for other employment. For some people, this transit may indicate finding a completely different line of work to pursue. In this regard, this transit may initially prove quite problematic, but the end result could be finding a far more rewarding line of work.
PLUTO RETROGRADE TRANSITS As usual with any retrograde planetary motion, this is a time to step back and review our endeavors and to reassess what direction we are taking and just what it is we wish to accomplish. This is a favorable time to evaluate our progress toward our goals, but also to determine how these objectives may benefit others as well. We need to become aware of how we not only influence our own lives, but the lives of others, too.
