Pisces
February 19 – March 20
Solar Chart House Transits
If you know your Ascendant and/or Moon Sign, read that, too.

Pisces reading and planetary transits for
the week of January 29, 2012.

MOON IN THIRD

When the Moon transits the third house we may expect our communications with others to take on emotional overtones. This may help us to communicate on a deeper feeling level with those close to us. This could be particularly useful in intimate relationships.

Siblings may come into play here, Pisces, and if we experience problems we should be sure that these issues do not stem from sibling rivalry from our past. Clear the air, but do so gently if you do experience such difficulties. This does not mean there will be a problem, but you should be aware just in case.

Unconscious habit patterns of response could create a problem if we speak before we think, Pisces. This most often shows up in relations with people we have contact with on a regular basis. Sometimes, in these instances, we react on "auto-pilot" and can inadvertently cause friction with those in our daily lives.

MOON IN FOURTH
February 1, 2012

This indicates a time when we are in "home-body" mode and a time when we may withdraw to our homes to relax or to do some puttering around the house. We can, and should, use this time for self-examination. The fourth house is one of the houses associated with the subconscious/unconscious mind as well as our past – the home we grew up in. This could be an aid to reviewing our past, Pisces, and to determine how much influence this still has on us today.

We may not wish to be alone right now, but a little bit of solitude at this time is often beneficial. We do not have to spend all of our time alone, however, as this is also a good time to interact with the family. You will probably want to feel more emotionally connected now.

Since the Moon is connected to habitual behavior and the fourth house is representative of our early home life, this is a good time for self-examination. If we discover problems this is a good time to correct them, so do attempt to set aside some time for yourself, Pisces.

This is the Moon's natural house and the natural sign on this house is Cancer. This should remind us that even though we may want to be emotionally connected at this time, we should avoid the negative side of this which is clinging to those we love. People that feel suffocated often have a desire to flee.

The fourth house was traditionally linked to the mother, although some associate this house with the less dominant parent today. So this may indicate a time when we have closer contact with this parent. Although this is a neutral manifestation, it might indicate clearing up a problem from the past or merely a time when we feel a closer bond with this parent.

MOON IN FIFTH
February 4, 2012

With the Moon transiting the fifth house we are likely to see greater emotional intensity in our intimate relationships. This is fine as long as we remember to not become overly possessive. Romance may, however, be a rich and rewarding emotional experience for you, Pisces. Just be sure to remember that they are your emotions and not your partner's that you are feeling. You may want to check to see if they feel the same way.

The fifth house is also considered the house of children and they may take on even greater significance now as the nurturing qualities of the Moon seek expression. The caution, Pisces, is to not be overly-protective to the point of stifling growth.

Artistic/creative self-expression could be a source for emotional outlet at this time. The Moon has been observed to be prominent in the charts of writers. Maybe you want to consider starting that novel you have been thinking about? However, lunar transits are fast so you will need far more indications than this transit to finish the work. But any creative hobby could prove to be an emotionally gratifying outlet at this time.

MOON IN SIXTH
February 6, 2012

The Moon may not feel too comfortable here in the house of health and work and service to others. We may feel the need to smother our emotions in the work environment, but this should not take on the proportions of emotional repression. We all have emotions; we just need to learn to express them in an appropriate manner and this is certainly important in our work-day life.

Lunar transits are so rapid that you probably will not experience a health problem, Pisces, but this should point out to all of us the connection between body and mind. Repressed emotions can lead to health problems if we continually swallow our emotions. Deal with the issues appropriately, Pisces, and you minimize risks to your health over the long-haul.

At this time we may feel a closer bond with co-workers. If we do experience problems at work now, we should check our responses and see if there is any connection to our past that may be influencing us to respond inappropriately.

MOON IN SEVENTH
February 8, 2012

When the Moon transits the seventh house we will see relationships imbued with even more emotionalism than usual. This need not be negative, Pisces, but often is due to our own insecurities and habitual unconscious reaction patterns which, during this time, may be used against us. If faced with relationship difficulties at this time, be certain that reaction patterns are not linked to the past and clouding the present situation.

Emotional intensity will usually mark this transit, Pisces, for good or ill. Dealings with our loved ones may be on a much deeper level as long as we avoid possessiveness, but dealings with enemies will be emotionally charged as well.

Most of us have a desire for relationships with others, but we should all endeavor to find security within ourselves. This can take the pressure off our relationships as we then enter into them through desire rather than need. We will normally desire more closeness with our loved ones now, but this also gives us the opportunity to examine our motives concerning these relationships.

MOON IN EIGHTH
February 10, 2012

The eighth house is Pluto's natural house and one of the keywords for Pluto is intensity. This will intensify the emotional reactions of the Moon during this transit. Added to this we have some very emotionally charged issues represented in the eighth house – money and sex = power. Remember also, Pisces, that this is one of the houses of the unconscious and responses here, as with the Moon, may be linked to our past.

This could manifest as emotionally gratifying unions with our intimate partners, but sometimes these issues can lead to difficulties. If problems should arise, Pisces, we should attempt to look within ourselves for these answers instead of immediately placing the blame on others. The emotionally charged issues of sex and money can act as doorways or catalysts to self-examination of our expectations and needs. This could act as an aid to transformation – another keyword for Pluto. This transformation could help us to feel more control over our responses, Pisces, and actually that is all we can control anyway.

MOON IN NINTH
February 12, 2012

The transit of the Moon through the ninth house may mark a period of restlessness for us. This may be more of a mental or spiritual restlessness rather than an urge for travel. A new area of study may come to our attention that offers emotional gratification, Pisces, but this could also be a time when our religious or spiritual pursuits may offer the same sort of satisfaction.

SUN IN TWELFTH

This is a time, similar to the Sun's transit of the eighth house, when we have an opportunity and should endeavor to examine our subconscious/unconscious mind. This may be a time when we should seek a bit of solitude for self-examination.

The twelfth house is often referred to as the house of secret enemies but, Pisces, quite often these enemies are actually parts of our personality that we may have been repressing since childhood. In order to be free of these influences that we adopted, or had thrust upon us by others, we need to bring them into the light for examination so that we may determine if we are placing obstacles in our path without even being aware of what we are doing.

For instance, children often develop defense mechanisms to protect themselves in childhood. When we reach adulthood, however, these same defenses may become stumbling blocks that hold us back. We may avoid relationships for fear of loss, or avoid advancement on our jobs for fear of failure. This is why, Pisces, we should examine the issues symbolized by the twelfth house and any placements there to determine how we are impeding our own progress and happiness in life and how we should deal with changing how we deal with these issues in order to have a more rewarding life.

As for secret enemies, Pisces, these too may have to do with our own actions. We may send the wrong signals or inadvertently offend others without meaning to, thereby setting them to work against us. Again, Pisces, this may stem from behaviors we adopted in our childhood that we are no longer consciously aware of. We should endeavor to be honest and forthright with others, but we owe it to ourselves to give ourselves the same consideration. Examining ourselves in this way can bring the demons out of the closet where they will have no more control over us and will no longer be able to influence our lives negatively.

This often seems to be a depressive time of year for most of us, Pisces. If you experience this phenomenon, remember to look within and try to discover what this transit is trying to reveal to you. Also, take heart as this does not last forever and when the Sun crosses the Ascendant your new year, astrologically, will begin again and your mood will definitely improve. Ideally, we should use this time to prepare ourselves for starting our own personal New Year by dealing with the issues of the twelfth house first. In this way, Pisces, we can keep these issues from impeding our progress in the upcoming year.

MERCURY IN TWELFTH

Mercury's transit of the twelfth house may have a similar influence that other twelfth-house transits elicit, and that is feeling a need to withdraw. This should be kept in check to a degree, however.

At this time we may be more in touch with the subconscious/unconscious mind and this affords us an opportunity for self-examination. Pisces, this can help us bring to light any problems that may be causing us difficulties and possibly this would be a good time to talk these things over with a trusted friend or some sort of advisor. It would be advisable to choose the people you discuss these issues with carefully as certain unscrupulous types may want to use these things against us later. So be certain those you choose to confide in are worthy of your trust. Remember, Pisces, this house is also, at times, referred to as the house of secret enemies.

This may sometimes make us reluctant to communicate with others, but that may have the unwanted consequence of pushing others away because they do not know where they stand with us. Pisces, it is best to be cautious about what you say now, but it is equally important to say what needs to be said.

If you choose to be alone now use this time productively, Pisces. This could be a favorable time to study as your solitude will help you to focus on the task at hand. Planning for your future could be beneficial now, Pisces, for when Mercury crosses the Ascendant you will begin the cycle again and be more outgoing.

Some people tend to be a bit depressed with twelfth-house transits and this is understandable when we consider the baggage we tend to store here. Remember, however, that these transits do not last forever and this is our way of affording ourselves the opportunity to clean out our closets and get rid of things that may be hampering us so that we can live a more rewarding life if we deal with these issues appropriately.

VENUS IN FIRST

This is a good time to make a favorable impression on others and to draw supporters to your side. You may be quite diplomatic now, Pisces, and may be able to ease tensions between others. Although we may not feel motivated to actively pursue our own interests now, this may be a good time to rally support for future endeavors.

One word of caution you should be aware of with this transit, Pisces, is a tendency to yield to others too readily. We are in a pleasant, peaceful sort of mood now and prefer to avoid conflict. We should, however, be aware that we might undermine our own future position by yielding too much at this time.

VENUS IN SECOND
February 8, 2012

This is one of Venus' natural houses and as such Venus' energy now may be intensified and act more readily here.

This may be advantageous on a financial level, Pisces. Contract negotiations, investments and purchases of art objects could be beneficial now. The only warning with this transit concerns extravagance. We may be far too free with spending now and could deplete our reserves, giving us reason for regret later.

We are often able to draw others to us at this time, Pisces, that may be financially beneficial to us. This may also indicate a time when we discover within ourselves some sort of artistic/creative talent, or appreciation for this gift in others.

MARS IN SEVENTH
Retrograde Until April 13, 2012

This may be a time of conflict in your life and these conflicts may be with your intimate partner, business partner or the open-enemies that the seventh house represents. Keep in mind this does not have to be counter-productive if we use the energy of Mars here constructively. The problem, Pisces, often stems from the fact that the energy of Mars is self-oriented and in this area we need to be more of a team player. We can circumvent many of the problems with this transit if we keep this in mind and do not allow our ego to walk over others.

If we do feel we are giving too much ground to others we should certainly stand up for ourselves and clear the air. But we should do so in the spirit of harmony; that is, to strengthen the relationship. This transit of Mars can offer us an opportunity to do this very thing, Pisces, as long as we keep any selfish tendencies in check.

Public relations fall under the influence of the seventh-house, and for those dealing with the public this could be a good time to further our image as long as we keep the combative nature of Mars under control. We might accomplish much in this area now. Also, the lower courts are a part of the seventh house and in some cases this might include some sort of a legal problem that might have to be dealt with now. As always with Mars, stand up for yourself where it is needed, Pisces, but give ground if you have to, in the spirit of fairness.

MARS RETROGRADE TRANSITS

Where Mars retrograde transits are concerned, this may indicate a time when we may need to adjust our current course in life. Whether that course is related to relationships or business, we may need to reassess what we are doing or alter it; to be sure we are headed in the direction we wish to follow.

Another indication is that things from the past that still irk us, or things we did not deal with properly, may resurface now. This affords us an opportunity to reevaluate these things and take the appropriate steps to deal with these issues now. We may have to learn an appropriate, healthy expression of anger or possibly learn to be more assertive.

When Mars is retrograde, it is not usually considered a favorable time to begin new ventures. This is a time for Mars energy to be directed inward, so that we may assess where we are going and review our strategies for getting there. When we do otherwise now, we usually run into unforeseen obstacles that tend to thwart our progress.

JUPITER IN THIRD

All Jupiter transits are connected to learning in some way, as Jupiter is the natural ruler of the ninth house of higher education. The third house is related to early education, so this transit indicates a time when we have reason to suspect we will learn something that can benefit us in some way, or perhaps take up a new interest of study.

This could come through siblings, neighbors, relatives or any interaction with our immediate environment, Pisces. This transit also indicates a time when we can communicate with others more effectively, and this could include writing as this is another issue of the ninth house ruled by Jupiter.

Both the third (short-distance) and Jupiter (long-distance) are associated with travel and, although the third house usually indicates travel in the immediate environment, with Jupiter here this could be a time of longer journeys. These travels may prove, in some way, to be learning experiences even though we may not be immediately aware of this benefit.

Those we come in contact with daily could benefit us in some way and this benefit could be financial, Pisces. Some attribute commerce to the third house, so this could be a time of increased activity and opportunities, as well as profits, in this area. Perhaps this might indicate an expansion of an existing business, or increased profits from new and existing customers.

This does indicate a time when we can expand our mental horizons, Pisces.

SATURN IN EIGHTH
Retrograde February 7, 2012

The eighth house includes jointly-held resources, sex, death, taxes, inheritances and so forth. Also, while the second house represents our personal values, the eighth house directly opposite, represents the values of others that we come in contact with. Any of these issues may be the source of confrontation now.

This is a time when we should attempt to be as financially self-sufficient as possible. We may not have easy access to the financial resources of others now. Consequently, Pisces, this is not a good time to get a loan or financial backing from others as these resources likely will not be available to us now.

Sexual values could be a bit troublesome for us now, or perhaps this area of our lives will bring issues to the surface that we need to deal with. The eighth house is aligned with Pluto and transformation. If this issue should surface now, in all likelihood it may be rather painful, but dealing with this appropriately can leave us feeling a greater sense of inner-security.

Death may enter our lives in some way but this is not the usual case, of course. This may be a good time to make considerations for the welfare of our families when our eventual demise does arrive.

Property settlements, should divorce occur, will not usually prove favorable during this transit. As usual, the greater the animosity in the relationship, the more this is likely to cost now.

I would recommend that you do not even consider cheating on your taxes, Pisces, and particularly with this transit. This could, and probably will, come back to haunt you. This may be a favorable time to find ways to save on your tax bill. Just be certain everything is legal and aboveboard. Check to be sure that everything is as it should be and when you are through – check it again.

The eighth house is related to transformation, and with Saturn transiting here these issues are frequently fearful and not a little painful. This may be a trying time, as Saturn transits often are, but it affords us an opportunity to build stronger foundations for our own sense of inner-security. In the eighth house, as in all the houses related to the subconscious/unconscious mind, this transformation may entail issues stemming from our past and we may be very reluctant to deal with them. We must keep in mind, though, that if we ever wish to free ourselves from the grip of our fears we must face these issues and deal with them accordingly. If necessary, Pisces, seek out professional help in this regard, or with any eighth-house issues now. For although this may be painful, we stand to make solid gains in this area now. The most important confrontations we have now may very well be with ourselves. Transformation now is aided by this.

SATURN RETROGRADE TRANSITS

This is a time to reexamine any structures, systems, organizations and policies inundating our lives. This may be a favorable time to revamp any of these for greater efficiency and productivity.

This is an opportune time to assess our own power and authority and to be honest with ourselves in this regard. We need to assess if we are holding ourselves back, or allowing others to do so, in some way. We need to learn how to fit in so that we may achieve our goals. We need to be objective about what we want and what others expect from us. Consequently, this may be a favorable time to reassess our relationships, both personal and business, and to determine which may need work and are salvageable, and those which we may have to let go.

URANUS IN SECOND

The second house represents money, possessions, personal values and innate talents. With the transit of Uranus here, this is the area where we will most often see the planet's disruptive influence. As with all transits of Uranus, Pisces, should we find troubling circumstances we should turn our focus to self-examination to become more consciously aware of what we are yearning for.

Financially, it is not recommended that we overextend ourselves now. This transit can bring sudden gains, but sudden losses can be just as common. This is a time to give ourselves plenty of breathing room financially and to keep our position as fluid as possible to guard against sudden upsets. Finances are quite likely to change now and possibly radically. So it is best to be prepared, Pisces, just in case fortune turns against us.

Our means of earning a living may change, particularly if we feel trapped in our present position. That secure job, which we may hate, might not be so secure after all. Take the initiative and break free if you feel this is what you need. Keep your options open in this regard as a change may be just what you need.

Personal values and possessions may feel the disruption of Uranus, too. What once seemed important may not seem so now. This is a normal process of growth, so do not become unduly alarmed by it if you should experience this. This could become a time when people become aware of how they are possessed by their possessions. If necessary, discard anything you feel you no longer need. If you do not do this of your own accord, Uranus may do it for you. This transit may seem difficult, but usually turns out to be beneficial in the end.

NEPTUNE IN TWELFTH

It is said that the twelfth house represents our transit through the chart and indicates an area where we wish to rejoin with the collective of everything in creation. Sigmund Freud was once said to liken this to a desire to return to the womb-state when we were one with all of creation. Neptune's transit of the twelfth house may stir similar feelings within us and we may begin to question the ultimate meaning of our existence on a personal level.

Some people may attempt to find this centering in the area of religion or other personal spiritual philosophy. But, Pisces, ultimately the way we find this is a matter of individual choice and preference. The goal, however, for most people, is the same – how are we ultimately a part of everything, and what is it we need in our lives and what path do we have to follow to achieve this for ourselves? This is an attempt to find a sense of spiritual peace for ourselves and to discover the path we feel we must follow in order to find it.

This could be an emotionally trying time for some individuals, Pisces, as are many planetary transits of the twelfth house. Keep in mind though that Neptune also opens a door for us to gain greater insight to the subconscious/unconscious mind. This can help us to deal with any turmoil that might arise now. Look closely at conditions surrounding the twelfth house for clues as to how to better deal with any issues that may arise now. Signs on the twelfth house, and any planets posited here, might indicate issues we have greater access to and can deal with in a healthier manner now.

NEPTUNE IN FIRST
February 3, 2012

The first house is representative of how others see us, Pisces, and with this transit others may not see us too clearly. That is to say, we may not be too sure of ourselves at this time and, almost as if we were teenagers, may be going through a phase of changing and trying on new faces now. This tendency may cause some problems in relationships, which may be exacerbated by our own uncertainty now.

We should attempt to be quite honest with ourselves as to whom and what we truly are. If you find yourself lacking in this regard, Pisces, try not to judge yourself too harshly as this is symptomatic of Neptune undermining our confidence in ourselves and will pass with this transit. This can be a rather long transit, however, depending on the exact length of your first house, but do not despair. This is fortunate in that it gives us time to take any changes taking place now in stride instead of them being too abrupt. If you experience real difficulties now, this may be a good time to seek out a counselor or advisor. Just be certain that you do not become too dependent on this person. They should be helpful but not become a permanent crutch.

If you should, as some people do, decide to help others now this can be helpful to your self-image and is a fortunate use for Neptune's energy. Keep the above advice in mind though and do not allow others to become dependent on you to carry their load for them. This is a good time to teach others to stand on their own two feet and make their own personal journey.

Some astrologers associate this time with a marked period of productivity where creativity is concerned, or at least a keen appreciation of artistic expression.

PLUTO IN ELEVENTH

Pluto's energy for transformation will now be directed toward professional organizations, groups we associate with, our friends, and our hopes and wishes for the future. But keep in mind, Pisces, this is ultimately a personal transformation and that all of the above are merely vehicles to achieve this end.

We may find our friendships ending now as they no longer seem to fit our current needs in this area. New friendships may form and these may be with people in positions of power or, keeping with the influence of Pluto, powerfully intense. Not all of these encounters may be pleasant, Pisces, but they may have a profound influence on us and engender the transformation taking place in this area of our lives now.

Our personal goals and objectives may undergo the influence of Pluto's transformation. We may find that things that were once quite important to us are no longer so. It may take some time for us to find new interests to replace the old but, due to the slow movement of Pluto, we will have plenty of time to do so.

As always with Pluto's transits, Pisces, a person may enter our life that has a powerful influence over us. Strive to be sure that this is a positive influence and not a negative one, which could occur now. Pluto can symbolize shady characters and ruthless individuals. It might not be wise to associate with people of this caliber now. The potential for problems may be too great.

I have also observed this in the charts of people concerning romantic affairs. In some cases, Pisces, the native is used with cold and deliberate calculation by the partner that bleeds them of everything they can before callously tossing them aside for a new victim; almost like a leech seeking a new meal and probably with even less sensitivity. Obviously, this is not at first apparent to the victim in question, but they are usually left with little doubt in hindsight.

If you should find yourself in a new relationship, Pisces, be careful about your partner’s motives. If you begin feeling that the relationship is one-sided yet your partner is accusing you of being withholding, it is very likely that you have a manipulative partner that is out to get all they can from you and give as little as possible in return. My advice – Run like hell and do not look back! In a case such as this, the negative influences listed above may very well color your entire outlook on relationships and obviously not for the better. It is far more productive to scrutinize these types of relationships carefully now.
